2021 DOGS NSW Junior Handler State Final

WORDS: Belinda Beves, Convenor Junior Handler Working Party (JHWP)

Well what a year this has been! After seven attempts the Junior Handler Working Party (JHWP) finally succeeded in making this dream come true on Saturday, 13 November 2021.

With a total entry of 20 wonderful junior handlers our respected judge, Mr John Sheppard, carefully chose his winners in each age group. These talented young handlers then competed for the overall Champion title.

The JHWP and exhibitors were extremely challenged by the weather gods on the day, however, after consideration for the trophies and ribbons, photos and the official presentation were made in the courtyard.

The JHWP would like to sincerely thank all the sponsors that helped make our trophy table one of the best and also to the owners of the swap dogs used. Without your support this event would not eventuate.

Barbara Killworth had the honour of photographing all the children, so we ask that you support her kindness by purchasing her photographs. We were also permitted to use Dana Photos’ spectacular backdrop for the photos. You have to admit the colours brought out the beauty in every photograph.

The JHWP sincerely thank Tom Mangan, Angus McIlrath and the committee of the North Of The Harbour, for the kindness and support you gave to us on the day. It was challenging, however, we all worked so well together. It was particularly pleasing to see the exhibitors of North of the Harbour Show, friends, family and the general public in attendance, support the future of our hobby.

The JHWP are now focusing on our DOGS NSW 2022 State Final and hope more children become involved to ensure our hobby continues.
