Ivanhoe Girls’ Grammar School is a forward-thinking community of learners who are thoughtful in their choices and brave in their actions.
Ivanhoe Girls’ is an open-entry school with over 850 students (from ELC to Year 12). This means that Ivanhoe Girls’ is small enough to focus on each student as an individual learner, yet large enough to be able to offer a broad range of subject and co-curricular choices.
The School has a special culture that is spoken about by parents, students and staff. There is a warmth, a friendliness that is hard to describe but experienced by those who walk through the gardens and become a part of the School family.
Students are encouraged to develop a broad range of thinking and learning skills and strategies, and each girl is encouraged to achieve academic excellence, as well as develop leadership skills and teamwork in a supportive and stimulating environment. ABOUT THE PRINCIPAL An experienced educator who commenced at the School in 2018, Dr Priest is passionate about developing young women as individuals and preparing them to take their place as outstanding leaders in our community and on the global stage.

Tours commence at 9am sharp on: Tuesday, 25 February; Wednesday, 6 May; Tuesday, 23 June; Friday, 14 August;Friday, 9 October; Thursday, 12 November. Open Day – 10am-1pm‚ Saturday, 21 March. Experiences abound through the many formal positions offered in sporting teams, cultural pursuits, House, tutor groups and in other cocurricular areas where students are elected to positions of responsibility.
LANGUAGES
French is taught from ELC – Year 12. Both French and Chinese are taught in the senior school, with Years 7 and 8 studying both languages. The School has offered Chinese language and culture for over 40 years.
MUSIC AND DRAMA
The School is renowned for its great Music and Drama program with a wide range of performance opportunities. Students can learn a musical instrument or undertake speech and drama training in a cocurricular lesson situation.
