hub
120 hour competition
Located in the Norwegian Fjords, the sub(merged) station serves passengers arriving to the area by boat. The hyper dock supports the visitors to Geiranger by gently spiraling underwater to the observation tunnel, where the passengers can take a shuttle to the other end, then follow another spiral ramp back up to land. Located along the exterior of the tunnel are energy collectors which harness energy to power the shuttles in the tunnel. Hydro energy is collected as the water currents allow the cylinders to bob up and down and this motion is converted into stored energy. The station has two 6 meter piers that spin out from the top of the water hub, allowing for a maximum of 4 boats to dock at once. station allowing for a clean dispersion of the passengers. Upon reaching the dock the passengers emerge onto an existing pier along with a parking lot, main road, restaurants and shops.

hofstra university housing “dormitory halls are more than places to sleep and study. They are inextricably linked to a dynamic campus life. The living spaces are discrete social units, combined with ample communal areas to encourage study, social inreaction and the building of community. The new campus plan design for Hofstra University confines all vehicular traffic to the perimeter of the campus, adds parking garages to the periphery of the North Campus, promotes walking, adds more bike racks, reestablishes native vegetation, increases permeability of the campus, and creates a new spine for the campus along which the new dormitories are located. The courtyard dormitory consists of three types of living units, retail space and a fitness area on the ground floor, as well as vertical social spaces.

lenfest community center for environmental research
The Lenfest Community Center focuses on studying the microscopic air particle in an area ruined by pollution for many decades (Greenpoint, Brooklyn). The center features innovative synthetic leves on its facade that are capable of cleaning the air around the center. The program was based off of three types of spaces: passive, perpetual, and transient which were discovered through a rigorous site analysis. Analysis of the site included the creation of a strand drawing of West street as well as a video analysis which was then translated into a diagram.

greenpoint remediation center This project, located in Greenpoint, Brooklyn seeks to create da multiple dwelling complex with each dwelling designed for a client with a specific occupation. The complex also seeks to clean the site through planting and recycling. The complex consists of a recycling area on the ground floor along with a compost site and rain water collection area, all visible to the public to promote awareness of sustainability and recycling. The ground floor also has room for commercial spaces such as a restaurant and boutique. The piazza in front is intended for civic interactions. The work area of the complex is intended for architecture firms and for galleries educating the public of the poor environmental condition of the area and how it is being altered. third year fall 2011 greenpoint, brooklyn prof.alberto foyo

j max bond center The objective was to redesign the J Max Bond Center located on the ground level of the Spitzer School ofArchitecture. The space was to be designed to promote collaboration and exchange between faculty, students, the community, and professionals. Our proposal focused on creating user activated spaces. The general concept was to have very flexible spaces that would change according to the activity happening in the space; therefore it would present itself differently during an exhibit than during a normal work day.

The objective of this project was to fall 2010 negotiate the interactions between second year spectator and spectacle. I located an prof. haritos important moment in the movie, Shutter Island, seperated it into several slides and then transformed them into a set of architectural spaces by using wire to connect elements from one slide passing into another.
weather station The objective of this project was to accomodate researchers engaged in the collection and storage of weather data in the particular area. My design was focused on the collection of rainwater and sunlight.
