YOUTH

SPRING / SUMMER 2017

Fashion has always been obsessed with youth, however, this obsession has now put a great deal of importance on ageless looks. In recent seasons, we have seen fashion become less formal and the Mrs. Robinson look is here to stay. 40 is definitely the new 20 and the youthful glow of Korean beauty stars and the Japanese Bimajo (beauty witches) have heavily influenced this trend.

Key Looks: • Graphic, bold eyes. Use liquids or eyeshadow sticks for a painterly look. • Dewy, doll-like skin. • Pastel, ombré lips. • Linear, playful nail art in soft color palette.

YOUTH

Eclectic Youth is a rejection of Instagram makeup buzzwords like contouring, nontouring, strobing, etc.. Instead, this trend embraces a painterly creative quality. Graphic washes of glossy pastels grace the eyelids. The dramatic eyes are balanced by youthful simplicity--dewy skin and soft, pink lips allow the creative eye make up to take center stage.

ER suits

This will translate into stronger looks for women. A modern version of the 1980s powersuit will be a must-have. Makeup will take inspiration from the “emphasize every feature” glamour of the late 1970s and early1980s. Yes, that means the nomakeup trends of recent seasons will give way to bold eyes, lips and cheeks.

POW

Powerful women are commanding the world’s stage from Hillary Clinton to the United State’s women dominating nearly every Olympic sport during the Summer 2016 games.

Eyes, lips and nails are the star of this gilded show. Skin is a supporting cast member. That means clear, dewy skin with a light dusting of translucent powder will serve as the base of the looks. The boldest will extend the metallic pigments to the rest of their face.
