Structure of DataMatrix code, 4 mains components : The closed delimitation line allows a reliable recognition of sample. It is used to calculate the inclination of the DataMatrix code.

The closed delimitation line with an open corner allows to identify the number of rows and columns. Concerning ECC200 code, the upper right corner element is in white. The memory area contains the binary information in a coded form. The cell size shows the number of possible combinations.

The «rest» area is an empty space surrounding the DataMatrix code.
