MANZANA VERDE First prize. Inte rnatio nal compe titio n

01

The project is committed to a broad understanding of the place of intervention to establish patterns of landscape support and relationship with the city, landscape and memory. The buildings are adapted to the volumetry proposed by the planning, freeing the tall plants of built volume, generating carved and sculpted objects that release space in their interior and that adapt to the different heights defined in the planning. It is proposed breathable buildings, perforated by patios and terraces that allow a ventilation of the set on an urban scale, allowing the passage of the breezes through the buildings.

06

Due to the heterogeneous nature of the environment, it is tried to establish a relationship with the urban environment through the cultural, social and material memory of the area, recovering spaces for people and traditional materials adapted to a contemporary look. The rational and serene geometry of the facades, together with the depth of the gaps (double skin and terraces-patios), seeks to integrate in this heterogeneous environment as a formally timeless and volumetrically rational element. 07

It is proposed a system of green bands to organize the common spaces of the whole arrangement. These bands are defined by their finish and content and include pedestrian zones, restricted road access to parking, green areas of stay, water sheets, shadow areas, children's games. Rolled bands allow access to the different underground car parks of the buildings. Likewise, pedestrian areas are available as streets and squares that aim to grant an urban character and close to people, connecting social, commercial and residential areas.

08

It is proposed a flexible housing model that is adaptable to the different needs of its inhabitants. A model that allows the freedom of the users to organize their housing and does not impose pre-established conditions on the inhabitants. The interior distribution allows you to customize the home and also adapt it to the climatic circumstances of each season (Summer - Winter).

09

The houses can be very versatile (flexible) changing the use of the rooms depending on the needs of the inhabitants or times of the year to optimize the guidelines. The kitchens are located adjacent to the courtyards and with a laundry area - laundry on the terraces.

MUSEUM JYVASKYLA Inte rnatio nal compe titio n

The proposal aim is to reflect the mixture of the original cityscape with contemporary quiet spaces and buildings which have as an aim to create a homely environment for the visitor, and to accomplish synergy of the visual quality of the landscape, open spaces and architecture. Pyynikintori Square is an historical public space that have adapted its character to the urban environment and to the needs and functions of the area. The aim is to keep historical values creating a new contemporary landscape, harmoniously integrated into the surrounding natural and built environment, which gives great importance to the comfort of the people who is going to use it.

02

The main element proposed to create this new space is a floating pergola, a pedestrian route with a roof cover, protected from the meteorological inclemencies with rest areas. This element organizes the functions included in the square giving support to the different needs of the users and visitors. The space embraced by the pergola is a public multipurpose area.

13

It is believed that the site can be transformed through the insertion of a Museum concept which is open to the urban environment, and furthermore we expect the urban spaces to be part of the building, and not so much to build a new enclosed space to the streets. The aim of the new building is also to create a welcoming and aesthetically attractive architecture that will be a quiet and and unpretentious landmark joined by the basement to the old building and which will inspire and stimulate tourists, visitors and staff.

14

15

It is proposed a new volume that holds an internal surprise, a courtyard which contains a piece of city. An space to increase the spacial quality and to give the users the possibility of having a part of the urban experience inside the building. The space of the inner courtyard is the heart of the new museum. A space to connect to the urban environment, to contribute to several functional tranches which is in direct connection to the main access lobby.

MEDICAL SCHOOL BUILDING First prize. Inte rnational compe titio n

The architecture proposed for the new Faculty of Medicine tries to reflect the demands of contemporary life and to express the autonomy of the architecture adapted to the place where it is located. It has been conceived as a building that connects the pre-existing architecture on the University Campus with the surrounding landscape. The building proposes a functional model that is easy for teachers and students to use and adapted to possible communal activities. It also aims to create a cozy and attractive architecture but intimate and silent.

03

The building negotiates with the place in two ways: on the one hand we propose a volume that houses an interior surprise, a patio that contains a piece of forest and that adapts to the existing topography. A space to improve spatial quality and to give users the opportunity to have a part of nature within the building.

19

The inner courtyard is a part of the landscape integrated into the building that provides students with a new concept of teaching building, where the green areas create a unique atmosphere as part of the building. It also allows the visual connection between the different areas of the building. In this way the building functions as a programmatic carpet that allows total internal flexibility and capacity for future growth to adapt to unforeseen future changes in medicine and teaching.

GV OFFICE APARTMENT A partme nt re mode ling.

The renovation project solves the dichotomy between home and office, taking on the characteristics of the domestic environment. The stylistic figure of the fluid and flexible spaces is the continuous surfaces with pure lines and dark shades that contrast with the light coming from the outside.

KĂœNSTLERKOLONIE Mu se u m and artists colony.

07

The project is the result of the analysis and masterplan project of Mathildenhohe's area and is based on the extension of the existent artists colony for give again life at the RosenhĂśhe park and at the cultural life of the city. The project is generated by the analysis of the existent buildings. The new three houses with ateliers are located following the main axis of the existing houses to create a third line of buildings to complete the colony and the common area is located perpendicularly to create an exchange space for the community. 32

INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL VILLA ADRIANA Te mpo rary installatio n.

The project is a temporary installation placed in the area of the Greek theater of Villa Adriana. Villa Adriana is located in Tivoli, near Rome, and was a country residence of the emperor Hadrian in the second century BC. The project is designed according to the famous festiVAL of Villa Adriana. The project is designed as a space that could easily change. Change is the central idea of the project because it shows in the programming of the festiVAL are different from each other and therefore they have different needs.

08

The project area is a large green area that expands from the Greek theatre to the road. In one side of area there are the remains of ancient gym and on the opposite side there is the parking of the archaeological site. The project was born from the idea of creating a mirrored volume to Greek theater, creating a space that links the ancient theater with the new theater . 39

40

The project is divided into two main blocks, the stage and the audience, close to the audience we have a covered area for refreshments or briefing. The set design of the new theater is the past. The structure of the stage allows to add modules or wings if the show were to ask for it . 41
