Pros and Cons of an HR Career Finding the perfect career for the rest of your life can feel overwhelming when you are making decisions. As you consider a variety of fields, consider what a career in Human Resources will look like for you. This is a role that can provide be rewarding, stable, and be the career path for you. If you are considering what the pros and cons are, weighing those in your mind consider the list below. You will want to add some, take away others, and seriously take a look into the skills you possess. If this is a good fit, you will not shy away from any of the responsibilities, but if you are not well suited you may experience some second-guessing.

Cons If you are weighing in your mind if HR is right for you, you can consider doing an internship. There is always work to be done, but below the simple way to find the cons of HR are listed below:   

HR employees deal with the termination of employees. This can include layoffs or firing and can prove to be a difficult situation to handle. This requires training and practice, which you will learn to develop. Well Mannered. Working in HR requires you to be on your best behavior, no sexual harassment in the office, and sometimes that includes dirty jokes. Being aware of each thing you say is crucial while working in HR> The added pressure. If you are not able to handle stress or confrontation, HR may be a poor choice of career for you. This role requires you to work hours, make big decisions, and communicate effectively. Pros While no job is perfect, it is a sure thing that you will enjoy some work more than others. Finding a job that fits you, works for you, and feels rewarding is what it is all about. Stability in Career. HR is a required field for every company, whether they choose to do work in-house or hire an outside firm. It is something that all companies are required to use. Work is evolving. HR work does require you to stay on the ball with new changes in laws, regulations, and other features. This allows the job to be ever changing and not too drab. The responsibility. As the HR representative for the company, you carry a large weight of responsibility. You have the opportunity to affect change, guide employees, and make their exiting of a company easier. Being an effective member of the team is important. Organization. If you are an organized person you will enjoy this. You will be required to keep documentation and paperwork for each employee in a company. Finding what is best for each of them.
