Studying Health Science as a Mom As you are working on balancing your role as a mom and your role as a health science student, you should be sure that you are able to study effectively. There are many people that do not make sure that they are as efficient as possible throughout the time that they are studying.

Make the most of your time The time that you get to study your health science material is precious and you should be sure that you are making the best of it. These tips can help you make the best of your study time to ensure that you are as successful as possible throughout your health science program. First, make sure that you are not procrastinating. Procrastination can turn a small manageable project into an extremely stressful unmanageable project and you want to stay away from any project that is unmanageable and extremely stressful. As you are learning how you are going to avoid procrastination, start by doing a little bit on a daily basis. You want to make sure that you do not expect yourself to do everything in one day and that you are prepared to study hard for a short period of time on a daily basis. There are going to be days throughout your health science program that you will need to study more than a little bit. But if you break down big projects into smaller project that you can do on a daily basis, you can be sure that your homework load stays manageable. Start by trying out an hour a day to work on your homework, complete projects and study for tests. When you give yourself an hour a day, you want to be dedicated throughout that hour and make sure that you are focused solely on the work that you are doing for your program.

Study while the kids are napping Second, when your kids go down for a nap it can be tempting to pull up a pillow and take a nap yourself but rather than napping you may want to study. Studying during this time is a great way to avoid the distractions that come when your kids are awake. As your children are napping, focus on the homework that you have to do. Make sure that you are working quickly and efficiently to ensure that

you are done by the time that your children wake up and need you. Third, if you find yourself in a bind and you know that you are going to need more time to finish your workload, find a family member or friend that can watch your kids. Do what you can throughout the time that your children are gone to finish quickly. When your kids are being watched you can put all of your energy into the project or the homework that you are working on. Do not overwhelm family or friends with constant requests to watch your children but make sure that you utilize them when you need them. Being a mom and being in school may not be easy, but it can change your life for the better. Do all that you can to make sure that you are successful in both spheres of your life.
