DENNIS PEACOCK The now 66-year-old had two stints at Rovers, accumulating a total of 329 appearances in goal for the club between 1975-1980 and then again from 1982-1986.

Sandwiched between his two stints in South Yorkshire he played for Bolton for two seasons, appearing in 16 games.

REECE WABARA A promising prospect to rise out of Manchester City’s Academy in 2011 had loan spells across a plethora of Football League clubs, but his last at City came at Rovers in the Championship.

The following summer he was released and Rovers managed to capture the right-back on a short-term deal.

His last club was Bolton in 2017, when he played in one game the season the club earnt promotion to the Championship. He hasn’t played for a club since, focusing his efforts on his fashion business.

DAVID WHEATER Before his breakthrough at his boyhood club Middlesbrough he had to learn his trade out on loan at Rovers in 2006 where he scored one goal in seven games.

His move to Bolton came in January 2011 when his seven-year stay at Boro concluded. His first of what would turn out to be 212 games for the club came against Wigan in the FA Cup, a week after joining.

Upon Bolton’s relegation last summer he joined League Two club Oldham Athletic.

NEIL REDFEARN The midfielder started his professional career at Bolton in 1982, despite coming through Nottingham Forest’s Academy.

It wasn’t until subsequent moves to Lincoln and Rovers that he started to make a name for himself as a prolific goalscoring midfielder.

His path would cross with Rovers again in the future when he was appointed the manager of Doncaster Rovers Belles in 2017. He left after winning the WSL2 title.

JOHN SHERIDAN While at Sheffield Wednesday in 1996, Sheridan was loaned out to Bolton after finding game time hard to come by after seven years at the club.

His move to Lancashire was made permanent later that year when he was one game away from making 200 appearances for the Owls.
