T4RM: Minister Singh, I greet you in the Precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and on behalf of Transformational4Real Magazine, I personally thank You for allowing me to interview you, so that our readers could get a glimpse of who Norma Singh is, what you are doing in your community, and beyond. Our main goal for our interviews is always to bring to our readers articles that will allow us all to see transformation that will encourage their hearts to be transformed by the renewing of their minds. With that said, would you please tell our readers how you, yourself, have been transformed by God and His Word.
T4RM: When did you realize that God had a plan for your life?

MNS: I realized God had a plan for my life immediately after surrendering to Jesus. I remembered that it was the penultimate night of a crusade. After the pastor spoke to me, he called out to the deaconess of the fellowship and identified me as “one for the kingdom.” I understood what he meant, but another voice said, “How does he know? I have heard that many people backslide at some point or the other.” With those thoughts dancing in my mind, I moved along, not concentrating on the decision that I had made.
MNS: My career has been as a teacher for five (5) decades. In this profession, when I reflect on my accomplishments, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God was with me every step of the way. During this season of my life, I was privileged to be appointed to every position on my path to the top in the primary levels of our school system in Guyana. I also encountered teaching pupils from Grade 1 to Grade 6 during the first thirty eight (38) years of the process. After retiring, I moved into the private school system for the last fourteen (14) years. My love for this profession was fueled by the desire to see children grasp relevant concepts and gain the confidence needed to advance to great achievements. I always tried to involve parents and realized that the bonds formed were strong enough to produce formidable teams that produced boys and girls that would become assets to the world. Incidentally, my years in the public schools found me relating to families who lived in the southern part of the city and were part of the low income population.
T4RM: As an Educator, please give us a summary of what that entails for our readers to understand how that works)?
MNS: I’m an individual who believes in being proactive. My posture for planning is that the earlier you begin, the better for all, allowing more people to be involved. A rushed approach, in my mind, tends to attract a small group of organizers, who may not be adequate for the specific activity. Enough time must be given to careful thought and the placing of personnel for effectiveness and efficiency.
T4RM: Because of the many hats you wear, I have to ask you this question. How do you operate in all that you do?

T4RM: When did you receive the call to preach the gospel?
T4RM: Were your parents active in church?
MNS: My mother was active in the church. Her lifestyle mirrored the life of a disciple of Jesus. Her words and actions spoke volumes. As a child growing up, I never thought about my future. Reflecting on my life, I am convinced that God guided my steps even before I knew him. The caregivers, apart from those in my family, were divine connections to the road that I traveled and prepared me for the purpose God had for my life.
MNS: I believe I received the call to preach during my involvement in the youth group in the fellowship that I attended. I was surprised when given the assignment but endeavored to do my best. I moved with guidance from the Holy Spirit and was amazed at the understanding I received about the selected Bible accounts. I’ve preached in crusades and outstations since then.
T4RM: God’s Word tells us that the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord. What challenged you the most for transitioning from your worldly aspects of living to God’s direction upon your life?
Growing up as a young adult, was it your desire to become an educator or was working in the secular world something that you strongly desired to do ?
T4RM: Did you embrace the call right away, or did you wrestle with the call to preach the MNS:gospel?
MNS: My passion for many aspects of my life is birthed from my desire to be a leader with strong administrative persuasion. My passion has caused me to get in trouble many times with others. My philosophy is that “if one is asked to lead or supervise a department, one should be allowed to use one’s initiative to make decisions.” This is not accepted by many, and I found that the accusations are that administrators in higher positions should have been T4RM:consultedIs

MNS: One of the most exciting projects that I am involved in every year is our Vacation Bible School (VBS). The planning period for this activity begins in the first month of the year. It’s a wonderful experience to have the Holy Spirit’s guidance in planning a series of lessons tailored to our culture and the current, prevailing situations that confront children and youth. This is followed by a six week training period, where discussion is encouraged, ideas are shared, and relevant adjustments are made. The focus of this aspect is to endeavor to have teachers “speak the same language.” Memory verses are selected from specific versions to help children retain them. Verses are shortened for the children in the nursery/beginner group. The participants come from communities near and far. The heartbeat and attention grabbers are the groups of young men aged fourteen (14) to seventeen (17) years old. This group had the propensity before COVID to have an attendance as large as 60 boys. God moves miraculously! I am convinced that He loves and is concerned about children and youth.
there a specific project that you are working on presently that you would want our readers to know about?
I never found myself wrestling with the call to preach. God said that He would never leave me or forsake me and that whatever I put my hands to shall prosper, therefore I went forth with the confidence that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
MNS: The most challenging aspect of transitioning from the “old man” to the “new man” was understanding the laws of God. Although I knew and accepted that there was a God, I didn’t know that he had sacrificed His life to show me a better way. The understanding of the word of God made the difference. I do believe that the enemy attacked where I was going, and the battle was real, but the love of God penetrated my heart, and the Holy Spirit drew T4RM:me.
T4RM: What are you passionate about?
T4RM: With that said, do you believe that the internet is the new church?

T4RM: What would you say to others, especially men, who are called to ministry but may not be willing to wholeheartedly leave all, like the twelve disciples did, to follow God?
MNS: It is important that all who are called go before God personally to hear from Him. God is always willing to listen, and He has the answers. Spending quiet time with God and meditating on His word produce the right answers. One must be intentional about fulfilling God's purpose. Always be ready to write what God says. The Holy Spirit will help to discern the right voice. The reason for uncertainty must be clearly given to God. Another important aspect is finding men of God who have answered the call. A successful pastor who has proven God in this area could be chosen as a mentor. Any believer knows that at this point in history it would not be easy to make such decisions, but God says in Ephesians 4:20 21 “Now unto Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the power that worked in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen'
MNS: The word of God in Mark 16:15 says “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature”. In my opinion the internet cannot be the new church, but it can assist the
Jesus encouraged us to live as He did with God, doing and saying what He saw and heard from the Father. The pandemic caused many church leaders to panic, and pride interfered with the need to seek help from fellow ministers.
MNS: I have always worked in the secular world, but I could always connect the secular to the spiritual. I love the idea of using the skills acquired in both worlds to complement each other. I have acquired a Bachelor’s Degree in Education Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies to enhance my delivery to children, teachers, and parents. What I admire about my training is the ability to foster a continuous flow from the secular to the scary and vice versa. How can you teach science without referring to the creativity of God? I have never failed to form a Bible club in any school I have been attached to. Presently, I am the Sunday School Superintendent at the fellowship that I attend. The knowledge of what transpires in schools helps connect children’s personal lives to Biblical principles as they face challenges in their daily lives. Words of life, hope, and encouragement are used to cushion the many obstacles they face. The need to help children understand the power of prayer as they face adverse situations is an asset.
T4RM: Do you see the need for ministries to impact the world for the Kingdom of God with each other to impact the world for the Kingdom of God without being in competition?
MNS: There is a need for ministries to collaborate. We didn’t get here on our own and can’t go very far on our own. God has emphasized the unity of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
T4RM: What are your long term goals for your ministry as you continue to transform lives through the Father’s directives?
MNS: My long term goals are to effectively teach the next generation to understand:
1. the power of God and His ability to transform lives and change adverse situations that may confront them; 2. that what they learn can help their families and peers if the share their experiences; 3. they can be agents of change as they seek to obey the Word of God; 4. that God is the same yesterday, today and forever; and 5. that God's word would not pass away.
10 church in spreading the good news. The word also says in Hebrews 10:25 do not forsake the assembling of ourselves together
T4RM: What are some of the plans you know that God has for you and for your ministry?
T4RM: I remember as a child kneeling down before my mother who was getting ready to give me a beating, telling her I was going to pray for her. At that time, I didn’t know or even realize then that God was calling me to be an intercessor. Was there anything specifically or any one incident that you can look back at now and realize God was indeed showing you your MNS:calling?Iremember that my mother told me that she took a while after marriage to give birth to me. When she became pregnant, she did not know. She saw a basket as if it were coming from heaven. When the basket was where she could see inside, she saw a baby. When she reached out to take the baby, she heard a voice saying to her you cannot take the baby now, I must take the child back up with me. It was soon after this incident that she realized she was pregnant. I was not told this until I was an adult but looking back at my life and all
MNS: God has a plan for me to train young people who are willing to receive the baton as we run the race that is set before us. God had shown me some time ago that I cannot just continue to teach specific class groups but that I should mentor and release others to continue the process. The Lord showed me that by myself I would only reach a small group but with others involved a larger group of children would be reached. The Holy Spirit has been faithful and it's amazing how the gifts and talents of others can be developed as we work to form a strong group that can do exploits for God. It’s a joy to hear the young teachers share amazing ideas. I have learnt to accept suggestions and modify where necessary to let them bring glory to God. During the pandemic we were given the privilege to interact with parents during our online classes. The testimony of some parents about what they too were learning as they sat in the same space with their children showed us that God's word can reach any age group from any level.
MNS: The pandemic did affect our ministry to the children for a short period, but the internet was used to quickly mobilize class groups. Teachers helped each grasp the relevant skills needed. Today we have returned to face to face and hybrid sessions. It is amazing how quickly we all learn. Vacation Bible School (VBS) was also conducted via the internet. We have learned to recognize positive aspects from the adversities of the pandemic and have continued our monthly Sunday school conferences online because the attendance at these meetings has been enhanced using this format.
11 that transpired as I grew, I have likened my journey to one similar to that of Moses. To fulfill my purpose in life I needed to have an education that would have benefited me in the position that I now occupy. If I’m to say that I am called to deliver a group, I would identify children who live in” depressed communities”. I have a passion to see them learn as I get ideas of useful methods to enlighten their minds. Over the years the Holy Spirit has helped me to witness miraculous progress
The world has become a busy place. It is therefore important to write one's priorities, remembering that God comes first. God promises that all other things will be added. I believe that these would include godly desires. One can serve God at home, in the community, in the workplace, in the church. There is the concept of the church gathered and the church scattered. Therefore the church can be found anywhere. One can fulfill the call of God in many ways and through various avenues. In Proverbs 3:5 6 God promises to direct our path. All that is needed is faith and confidence in God and seek to follow where He leads. As long as there is the presence of joy and peace in one's life one should just continue moving on, fulfilling God's will.
T4RM: If and how has the pandemic affected your ministry?
T4RM: What would you say to anyone who wants to do and be all that God called them to MNS:do?
T4RM: How would you say you are transforming the lives of those in your community?
MNS: The best way I found that a family that could help to transform lives in one community is that of displaying a godly lifestyle. As a family I have endeavored to encourage members to live lives that please God. The quietness of the behavior that comes from our home is evident. The progress that our children have made as we maintained integrity and held on the expectations of God was there for all to see. There were some families in the community that were involved in unwholesome activities that catered to the “get rich quick” format. The advice given to our children was never to go in that direction. Over the years we have realized, from conversations with neighbors, that we were being observed and some are amazed at what has been accomplished by us. Neighbors continued to be friendly, some came for advice, made courtesy calls and some even looked out for us and our home. We know that it is because of our lives that speak to the goodness of God. We are thankful that we have the privilege of being connected to a neighborhood that keeps looking out for us. We can leave home when we have friends around us. We have seen many of the children who are young adults now, making the effort to live differently from the previous generation.
T4RM: What are some of the things in (Guyana) that grab your attention the most for help?
MNS: The racial tension in Guyana grabs my attention the most. I help exhibit the dynamics of an interracial marriage between my country’s two main ethnic groups. I have been delivered from this enemy of the soul of my country and have learned to celebrate our differences. Every opportunity that presents itself for me to intervene in adverse circumstances or organize amicable sessions, I allow God to help me be that light or salt that I am called to be.
T4RM:ministerDo you see many of the churches getting involved when it comes to the mental health and well being of your city?
T4RM: When do you make time for yourself, your family both mentally and physically?
MNS: I make intentional plans to be with my family. I have seen the benefits of putting God first and family second in my order of priority. Relaxing together can do a lot for your mental health. There is a special flavor added when grandchildren are there. It is really therapeutic to see them grow and develop. It is said that they awaken the youth in you. I subscribe to this theory. A healthy family produces healthy minds, bodies, and relationships and improves society as a whole.
MNS: My vision is to see teachers develop to a point where they can be independent lesson planners and disciples of the vision of the department. As teachers we see ourselves as

MNS: I am sure that by now readers would realize that my ministry is directed to children, teachers and parents. I am always working with others to help show forth the glory of God. Right now I am to be involved in a children's crusade organized in one of our “low income families” communities beginning in September. I will be working along with church personnel. I always find it enjoyable to meet with children in these communities and try to minister as the Holy Spirit leads. I will take some school supplies to share as I always try to find the bridge that I can traverse between the spiritual and the physical needs of those to whom I
T4RM: Are you involved with local government or church personnel to help your city become a better place to show forth God’s glory in the earth?
T4RM: What is the vision for your group as God continues to expand your ministry?
MNS: Many churches in our country are addressing mental health. I am a part of an association of ministers’ wives and have the privilege of hearing about the behaviors that they encounter. We interact on an informed basis because of the presence of trained personnel. Their descriptions of real life situations help us understand the issues confronting families and equip us to be active participants in the lives of those needing help, especially at this time. The fellowship of which I am a part recently hosted a 2 day seminar for members and specifically for church leaders to address the matter of mental health.
T4RM: Where are you now in your ministerial walk?
Another activity is planned for November where we will have a retreat where the activities planned will give us the opportunity to spend time sharing in different areas. A workshop and a tour around a specific community are planned. Both of these end of year activities will give us the opportunity to move out of the city and meet teachers from other fellowships.

MNS: At this point in my life, I do feel that God is calling me to document specific experiences that impacted my life. An example of this is formulating Quarterlies {a set of lessons that will last for 3 months in one booklet) by combining the lessons planned over the years for VBS sessions. I endeavor to be obedient with the help of the Holy Spirit.
T4RM: What do you see yourself doing in the remainder of the year? Probably the same thing with more people?
MNS: For the remainder of this year two major activities have been planned. One is scheduled for the month of October during which the executive of our Sunday School Department will show appreciation to teachers who have worked faithfully over the past three years. This was initiated because of the sacrifice made by them during the pandemic. We plan to meet for a time where we will have fellowship, a time where we share meals, have presentations from the Word of God, distribute certificates and receive a charge from our Director.
