THE BEST OF RED & WHITE

Red or white? Your Christmas wine doesn’t have to be just one or the other – especially for such a grand occasion! All of these wines have been selected with one thing in mind: to bring you the best possible food match to the most important meal of the year.

RED WINE

EL COTO DE IMAZ

Rioja Grand Reserva Mature and elegant with rich aromatic complexity. Toasted oak nuances and coconut give way to notes of leather and damp earth from bottle ageing. On the palate, silky, rounded tannins accompany fresh red berries, dried raisins and spicy notes.

CHÂTEAU L'HEYRISSON

Reserve An absolutely top class red Bordeaux. Silky and sweet with a big whiff of leather on the nose. Aromas of plummy fruit, a hint of caramel and quite tannic. A very well balanced red.

€20 CLOSERIE DE VAUDIEU

Châteauneuf-du-Pape This wine has lively berry fruits on the nose, with a touch of liquorice and a hint of black pepper. Full of fruit, juicy and round with ripe tannins that gently support the cherry, cassis and herb character on the finish.

CHÂTEAU MACQUIN

Saint-Georges-Saint-Émilion A harmonious, intense bouquet of layered black cherry, bilberry and light tobacco notes; the oak is very well integrated. The palate is mediumbodied with supple tannins and it has an irresistible silky finish.

WHITE WINE

LUGANA SAN BENEDETTO

Zenato Intense floral aromas and fruity citrus notes, on the palate this Lugana opens up as a wellbalanced, mineral and delicate wine. Pairs exceptionally well with fish, poultry and white meats.

DOMAINE JEAN-MAX ROGER

Sancerre Les Caillottes, With vibrant aromatics, this wine combines fruity, floral notes (lemon, grapefruit, rhubarb, broom) and a wonderful zesty mineral finish. Richly textured but with lovely freshness, this is top quality Sancerre.

€25 KIM CRAWFORD

Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc Notes of fresh fruits nuances like citrus, apple and melon are mixed with delicate herbs and floral reminders. On the palate, the wine is very fresh and fruity, with a lively acidity. It has a long finish with an aftertaste that is typical of an Albariño.

MAISON LOUIS JADOT

Chablis This wine shows all the chalky, lemony and mineral characters one expects from good Chablis, but also a richer texture than many, adding to its appeal. The perfect accompaniment to cheese or smoked salmon.
