Lisa Pearson AKA "Boots" hails from New York City but now lives in Raleigh, North Carolina. She has been riding motorcycles for 8 years, now and she owns a 2005 HD Dyna Lowrider named, “Roxyy”.

How were you chosen to be a part of this ride? Well, this isn’t an event for new riders or even Weekend Warriors. I knew they were looking for seasoned riders and confirmation that they could handle being on the road for that long. So, I applied and shared my many miles of experience and adventures I’ve already had. I guess my love of riding and wanderlust came through, as well.

What are you looking forward to the most about this ride? I’m looking forward to doing my first long distance ride, and the new friendships that come with it. But most of all I’m excited about all the unexpected things that you never plan for but always happen. They make the best stories!

How are you preparing for this ride? Lists, lists and more lists! My lists have lists!!! I’m doing research and getting packing tips, learning good exercises to do on the road to avoid stiff, sore muscles, and deciding which sights are top priority for photo ops. I’m also getting Roxyy ready, too - she got new tires, handlebars and brake pads. Plus, I’m double-checking cables and tightening everything that twists, etc. We’ll both be in tiptop shape come June.

Has this been a dream or bucket list item of yours? Actually, my bucket list is infinite! It has everything on it - big and small. But this is certainly something that is an epic opportunity and one that I just couldn’t pass up.

Who is your inspiration? My inspiration for this trip is mom and her sister, my Aunt Mary. They taught me about being strong and independent, and making life fun for myself as well as others around me. I want to teach these things to my daughters and what better way than to lead by example. If her eyesight was better Aunt Mary would be riding right beside me!
