Cannon Hinnant Benefit Ride
Written By: Moe Photos By: Moe and Gypsy
On August 22nd, 2020, 423 Bikers gathered at The Bottom Bar in Goldsboro, NC, to ride in honor of Cannon Hinnant, a 5 year old child tragically murdered on August 9th in Wilson, NC. The Bikers and the Cagers formed a 12 mile long line and rode from Goldsboro to Wilson and back to Goldsboro to The Bottom Bar, where BBQ plates and BBQ by the pound were sold. Also, a silent auction was held to raise money to be donated to the Eastern NC Make a Wish Foundation in Cannons name as requested by Cannon’s family. Bikers from all over NC, Virginia, West Virginia and SC attended the benefit. Nine teams of cooks, along with their Volunteers, dubbed “Team Cannon”, stayed up all night prior to the benefit, preparing the food to be served. 1200 pounds of BBQ was cooked and sold at the benefit. The Make a Difference Food Pantry in Mount Olive, NC, cooked and donated all the sides served with the meals. Believe me, the food was amazing! $13,057.00 was raised and ALL the monies raised was donated to Eastern NC Make A Wish Foundation. Three children will be able to enjoy their wish from the money raised.
Many thanks goes out to Cindy Goodman and Reggie Davis for organizing the ride, John Kearney and The Bottom Bar for organizing the cooking of the food, Jordan and Jessica Boggs of The Bottom Bar for hosting the fundraiser, Team Cannon for cooking the pigs, all the sponsors for their donations, The Goldsboro Police Department, Wayne County Sheriffs Department, Wilson Police Department, NC Highway Patrol, and all the Bikers and Cagers that made the Memorial Ride and Fundraiser an amazing success. #Cannon Hinnant #Say His Name #Justice for Cannon
