the ridges sanctuary Miles of rustic paths, trails, bridges, and wildflowers. Take a naturalist-led tour or hike the paths on your own. There is a Family Discovery Tour where kids can play and explore nature through a series of activities. Tour Baileys Harbor Range Lights, bird watch, or go snowshoeing in the winter.

42 kite surfing at anclam beach Hot air rising off the peninsula accelerates wind from the lake, making it the windiest place in Wisconsin. Flatwater behind the jetty is perfect for big tricks close to spectators. Waves roll all the way from Anclam Beach to Ridges Beach, where kids can learn to surf safely.

cana island lighthouse Walk across the causeway between the mainland and Cana Island to visit this majestic lighthouse. Climb its 97 step staircase for sweeping views of Lake Michigan and the county.

kangaroo lake beach This secret little spot is the perfect place to kayak, canoe, wind-surf, or lounge in warm shallow waters. Fisherman can fish right from the shore.

waseda farms Located on 360 acres, Waseda Farms is the county’s premier state-of-theart cattle-handling system — raising organic beef, pork and poultry. Inseason, the farm also grows fresh and flavorful produce.

More than 12 shipwrecks are visible from Lake Michigan’s surface.
