BIOTECHNOLOGY The Dordt Difference

At Dordt College, we believe that it is important for Christians to have an influence in the ever-changing world of biotechnology. Advances in this field have allowed us to do good things in God’s world but also have raised ethical questions in areas such as human reproduction and the environment. Scientific developments demand leadership from students like you who will help develop and care for our world. Dordt College offers a multidisciplinary program to equip you to work as a Christian in the field of biotechnology, preparing you to address the challenges you’ll be sure to face.

The Program • Introduction to Biotechnology • biology and chemistry courses most appropriate to your emphasis • course requirements for your major and Core courses • an internship at a biotechnology firm or molecular biology lab is encouraged

• Biotechnology Senior Seminar,” an interdisciplinary course in which you will address and evaluate applications of

biotechnology from a variety of perspectives.

For more information about the biotechnology program at Dordt College, feel free to contact program director Dr. Tony Jelsma at tjelsma@dordt.edu.

Biotechnology intersects with several majors. In our innovative interdisciplinary program, we let you choose one of five emphases. • The agriculture emphasis will

give you foundational training for working in agricultural applications.
