Welcome...
The West Moors Directory
Dear Neighbours,
Welcome to your June issue of The West Moors Edition 121 Directory. We have lots of news for you this month, with a variety of articles that we hope you find useful. It is the famous West Moors Fun Day on July 18th, so do make a note of that for Stephen & Debbie Corney your diary. Details can and our son Hayden be found on page 12. We wish local West Moors lady, Jessica Grove the best of luck in raising money for The Commando Spirit Appeal! There are free wood chips available on 27th and 28th June. Contact information can be found on page 28. St Mary’s First School had a very exciting Parliamentary experience which you can see on page 24. The popular Law Spot has some very useful data. We welcome the new East Dorset District Council Chairman, and Nellie took us to The Wheels Festival in Bournemouth! What fun we had and what great photos Stephen took. Don’t forget that if you have any local news, then we can help you shout about it. We also like to shout about our loyal, local advertisers. If you have a testimonial about one or two of them, then please do send it to us. We will publish it to let everyone know what a great job they did. The lucky winner of the tickets to see Showtunes was Mrs Pike. Well done to you and we hope you have a great evening out. This month you could win a Bio-Box from us, at www.greenisbest.world. Best of luck! Wishing you a wonderful month of June,

East Dorset District Council appoints new Chairman East Dorset District Council has appointed Councillor Steven Lugg as its new Chairman. The honorary position was bestowed following a unanimous vote by the newly-elected councillors during their first annual meeting on Monday 18 May. The Chairman’s charity objectives for the year are to help support the homeless and to offer assistance to local young adults transitioning into work. To this end he looks to help PASHA who run three homeless hostels, and the John Thornton Young Achiever’s Foundation, specifically so they can offer further support to the Ferndown Upper School Centre of Excellence and Industrial Liaison. Councillor Lugg was born and grew up in North Dorset, before joining the army at the age of 16. In 1997 he and his family were posted back to Dorset and have remained here ever since. He left the military in 2004 after 24 years, and recently became a Yeoman of the Queen’s Body Guard. He and his wife Catherine live in Ferndown and have five grown-up children, as well as being foster carers for Bournemouth Borough Council. Like his father, his son Rhys is now serving in the Household Cavalry. A management accountant, Councillor Lugg is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and has a PG Dip in Not for Profit Management. He currently works full-time in Hampshire and is also a trustee of the Ferndown
Community Association and Chairman of the Ferndown Central PACT. He was previously Chairman and Treasurer of East Dorset Mencap. Upon his new appointment Councillor Lugg said: “To be able to lead the East Dorset District council is quite an honour indeed. I am keen to spread awareness about the good work of the council, particularly to local organisations, and am proud to be an ambassador” The Council also elected Councillor David Shortell as Vice Chairman and Councillor Ian Monks as Leader of the Council. The Chairman of the Council is the civic head of the council while the Leader of the Council is the political head. East Dorset District Council has 29 councillors who are elected by the public every four years. They represent 16 different wards of East Dorset.

Wildlife News
Talking about Wildlife...
Marvellous Meadows Rolling meadows with their rainbow colours and sounds of wildlife bring out the romantics and poets in many of us. Few relaxation techniques can compete with a stroll along a meadow, in a light summer breeze, with the sounds of insects humming, birds singing and small mammals scampering away. Meadows are quintessentially British, and an essential part of our landscape, but sadly their numbers have been reduced greatly in the last half century. Meadows may look wild, but in fact these open areas of grassland are man-made havens for wildlife. Over hundreds of years meadows have been carefully managed with traditional means of alternating cattle grazing in the winter with hay cutting in the summer, when meadows are closed for cattle. They support a complex and intricate ecosystem with hundreds of species of flora and fauna, and are of great ecological importance. One of the most important functions of todays’ meadows is supporting pollinators; bees, butterflies, moths and hoverflies. Common pollinator species inhabiting and buzzing around meadows are orange-tip, common blue and skipper butterflies, and bumble bees. A great part of the ecosystem depends on pollinators, and many plants and crops rely on them for their reproduction. Following the intensification of farming and development that took place after the war, pollinators have also decreased in numbers due to increasing popularity of pesticides and loss of many natural habitats. Meadows typically support dozens of species of various grasses and flowers, and the flora vary according to local climate and soil conditions. The varieties of grasses include quaking, sweet vernal-grass and crested dog’s-tail, and the species of flowers vary from snake’shead fritillary, devil’s-bit scabious and pepper saxifrage to various orchids, and many more.
In damp meadows, cuckooflower, ragged-robin and yellow iris can also be found. The multitude of grasses and flowers provide the pollinators with the vital nectar and pollen, and the insects in turn end up on the menu for birds, frogs and bats. Badgers, hares and rare farmland birds such as skylark all inhabit meadows, making them one of the most fascinating landscapes we have. Whilst meadows have been reduced drastically, there is good news as well; some have been protected as nature reserves, and meadow creation schemes such as ‘Coronation Meadows’ are creating new, “unimproved” meadows without the use of fertilisers. You can help us keep the magic of British of meadows intact for future generations and in ensuring that pollinators continue to thrive in this invaluable environment. Volunteering with your local Wildlife Trust and buying produce from local, traditionally managed farms are steps that take us closer to ensuring the future of our meadows. Dorset Wildlife Trust supports meadows preservation and will run the Kingcombe Meadows Reserve Wildflower Week Event on Wednesday 27 May 2015 10:30. This includes a walk through the reserve, looking at the flowers, folklore & history. Donation £2 to Dorset Flora Group welcome. By Niina Silvennoinen

..providing the answers
to your legal questions
Every month the solicitors and lawyers at Harold G Walker will be providing answers to your questions about the law. My employer has refused my request for two weeks holiday, as she has said that she cannot spare me as business is too busy at the moment. Can she stop me taking holiday leave when I want to? In the first instance, you should check your contract of employment and/or holiday leave policy, if your employer has one, to see whether your employer has made particular provision concerning this point. If your employer has, then under the contract your employer will have a contractual right to prevent you from taking your holiday. However, if your contract is silent on this point, then the default position will be set out under Dee Woodcock Employment
I am appointed Executor of my Aunt’s estate and have had to use my own money in connection with her estate; can I claim these back? During the administration of an estate it is usual for certain expenses to arise, such as payment of death certificates, potential change of locks on a property or insurance premiums. Expenses incurred which directly relate to the administration of the estate can be reclaimed from the estate, when monies have been released from the banks, which is usually after the Grant of Representation has been obtained. It is also possible to claim for mileage, if for example, you live some distance from your Aunt’s property and are required, under the terms of the insurance policy,
the Working Time Regulations 1998 (WTR). This states that a worker wishing to take leave must give notice, which must be at least twice the period of the leave requested. Where this has been done the employer may refuse the worker’s holiday request by serving a counter-notice. This counter-notice must be given to the worker at least as many calendar days before the proposed leave is due to commence as the number of days which the employer is refusing. As a result, a worker who wishes to take, ten days holiday (i.e. two weeks holiday), under the WTR, should give their employer twenty calendar days’ notice. If the employer subsequently wishes to refuse that request, it must give notice at least ten calendar days before the date on which the leave was due to start. If the employer serves notice outside of the prescribed period then the employer will have difficulty stopping the worker from taking their leave and the decision to refuse could be challenged by the worker raising a grievance.
to regularly inspect the property, or simply need to clear it. However, it is important that you separate expenses incurred in your role as executor and those as a grieving relative, for example attending the funeral. In order to account for all expenses claimed and to avoid any dispute with beneficiaries of the estate it is advisable that you keep a record with receipts. This information will also need to be included on the estate accounts.

West Moors Flower Group In preparation for our Show on 25th July members’ work was appraised by Marilyn Nourse in “What the Judge looks for.” She provided several hints and tips and we hope that members will be encouraged to enter their arrangements in the Show. On 17th June Angie Norris will demonstrate under the title “A Few of my Favourite Things” and the Club competition is “The Essence of Summer.” Several members recently produced a display at the Wimborne Minster Flower Festival and their hard work was much appreciated, receiving many favourable comments. New members are always welcome to meetings on the third Wednesday of each month. Please direct any enquiries to An example of our work! Catherine Jenkins on 01202 876441.
St. Mary’s First School Election Special Pupils and staff from St Mary’s CE First School in West Moors travelled to London last month to take part in an Election Special at the Houses of Parliament. As the votes of the 2015 General Election were still being counted, Year 4 pupils experienced a ‘mini’ election of their own. Political party lines were drawn as each ‘party’ of children busily drafted their own manifestos before campaigning began. Ultimately it was the aptly named ‘Red Saints Party’ who emerged victorious with their pledges to ban smoking and give more aid to developing nations. However in scenes echoing the General Election 2010, no overall majority was reached and therefore the ‘Government’
was formed as a coalition between ‘Red Saints’ and ‘Golden Keepers’. Leader of the ‘Red Saints’ and new Prime Minister, Megan, vowed to run the country in accordance with our school motto – Believe in better and be more AWESOME!

KITCHEN & HOME APPLIANCE CENTRES Holmans have seen a dramatic increase in business at their Kitchen and Home Appliance Centres in Ferndown & Wimborne. In its 67th year this family run business now with third generation owners Gary and Steve Holman at the helm continue to offer the perfect outlet for the people of Dorset to update their homes for the year ahead. With the latest audio/visual technology available alongside a diverse range of kitchen and home appliance. “As an independent business we favour the personal approach that other, on-line and more corporate orientated retailers fail to deliver. Despite rapid changes in technology over the past half century, our core ethos of trusted, friendly business remains the same. If you are ever in need of some advice or direction, our talented team of product advisor’s will be more than happy to lend a hand in guiding you in the right direction. Some notable new additions to our showrooms include the marvellous Neff Slide & Hide oven range which has been featured extensively in the BBC show ‘The Great British Bake Off’. We are
particularly impressed with this range as they offer an innovative mechanism which veils the oven door and allows smaller kitchen owners a practical solution to space issues. Feel free to drop by our showroom for a demonstration,” says Gary. For more news please like and follow us on Facebook and Twitter. AND look out for the bright new delivery vans! For more information about the products and services that Holmans provide, call the showrooms on 01202 882785/876699 or visit their website at www.holmans.eu.

Introducing... Red Sails Homecare It’s not always what you expect... When I was still a carer my very first client really didn’t want me there! Her husband, who cared for her, needed a short stay in hospital. I think she thought that I was going to take over her life. Over the next few days I settled into her routine. She told me where to find things that she needed and we discussed what meals she would like. I shopped for things she wanted and most evenings we watched a movie together. In between I did the household chores. We enjoyed each other’s company and day to day life was happy and comfortable. The phone rang... About a week into the assignment the agency called my client. She chatted
to them for a while and then in dismay demanded, ‘You’re not going to take Alison away from me are you?’ The reality is that our carers will fit into your household, and your daily routine will remain just as it has always been just a little bit easier: Personally tailored assistance which is usually less than the cost of a care home. To request a brochure, arrange a visit or find out more, call Alison on 01202 805345 or 07835 295553. Alison Smith Director of Red Sails Homecare Ltd

Adventures of Nellie

The Adventures of Nellie The Dorset Publications Camper Van Nellie loves this time of year…the time of Shows! We have so many different types of exhibitions, festivals and fairs that we really are very spoiled. From the Great Dorset Steam Fair and the Dorset Show in September, the Bournemouth Air Festival in August and the wonderful New Forest Show in July, to name but a few. Well this one was totally up Nellie’s street… The Wheels Festival in Bournemouth! Nellie was rather excited to be going out. She had had ‘bronchitis’ and had been suffering for weeks, making a rather loud growling sound as she spluttered along. We were waiting for her new part to arrive all the way from Japan, so if anyone heard her, and to be honest she would have given the Formula One Racers a run for their money with all the noise she was making… we do apologise! So now with a new tube and a revived Nellie, off we went to the Wheels Festival. It was “Mayhem” in Zone 3! What a truck that was. This was a chance to have a ride on a huge truck, be thrown around and bounce up and down on the sand at speed. What fun.
Moving along to zone 2 there were Monster Trucks. OMG as the youngsters would say. Big Pete is massive. Nellie looks decidedly slim, yes slim, next to this beast of a machine. In fact Big Pete Ltd is the UK’s No1 most successful Monster Truck Team and has the ONLY female monster truck driver in Europe! Nellie was very impressed with her. You can check out their website at www.bigpete.org. Big Pete and Grim Reaper pulled a car apart in a tug of war, as if it was made of paper! They also climbed over a hill of sand, with two very squashed cars on top, as if kicking a plastic bottle out of the way. Easy. We also learned that ONE
Mayhem in action in Zone 3
Grim Reaper driven by Karen Shutler
Big Pete tries to jump to the Isle of Wight
39 new tyre costs £3000 and an extra £750 for the wheel, so we are rather pleased that Nellie doesn’t need shoes quite so big or expensive! Then, further along the populated promenade, well… oh… was Nellie’s dream. A red Lotus Esprit. Oh how she would love to look like a red Lotus Esprit. I am sure when she looks in the mirror, instead of seeing huge thighs and a big grin, she sees sleek, smooth, elegant lines. Probable much like I see Claudia Schiffer in the early 1990’s! Or is that Steve? Anyway… gorgeous, glistening and glamorous cars lined the street looking into the sunshine. Mmmmm…
Nellie dreams in the mirror...
Walking back up to the top, to the Overcliff were the famous Formula One Racers. Now if Nellie raced along at that speed (if only she could…) I am sure she would have been severely reprimanded - if they could have caught her of course! Today was a special day and the Overcliff had become an exhilarating race track. I do hope there
was noone staying in one of the hotels, hoping for a quiet romantic weekend, as they would have been rudely disappointed. The noise was amazing. The roars and the revving, incredibly powerful engines were invigorating. What a sight and sound. These cars are something else and driving one, so close to the ground at that speed, and let’s face it, this was probably slow in comparison to what they can do, must be a total trip. Incredible. There were lots of other events on different days at different times. Bournemouth was alive with go-go-go, roaring machines, yells of excitement, family and fun. Well done Bournemouth! Nellie had great fun and is definitely looking forward to more Shows. Where will Nellie go next…? By Debbie Corney

Featuring... Ferndown Fitness We (John & Kirsten Smith) have been helping people lose weight and improve their general fitness for 29 and 16 years respectively. Our background has always been in the field of weight loss, toning and general fitness for the everyday person rather than the stereo-typical gym approach which seems to favour the already fit, slim and strong. We meet people all the time who would like to exercise but they are totally put off by the thought of a vast space full of mirrors and people they simply CANNOT relate to; both members AND staff. If you are overweight or feel unfit and out of condition, the thought of walking into a typical gym can be absolutely terrifying.
Looking around other clubs, we knew that Ferndown needed a proper club for normal people who would like help, motivation and support EVERY time they came in, with staff who can relate to them and are always around. Plus be around other members who were just like them. Oh and a club with NO mirrors that encourages baggy t-shirts!
John & Kirsten Smith We have a system in our club that means approximately 45 minutes each visit will get you great results, having worked every part of your body; tummy, arms, legs, bum, back etc. The system comes from our combined 45 years of experience so is tried and tested and incredibly effective and most importantly, age, weight, size and experience are totally irrelevant. Whatever your individual starting point is, we CAN help you. We’re right in the heart of Ferndown, opposite the library and above the Post Office with free parking in Tescos.

IT’S ALL CHILDS PLAY
Putting the fun into Father’s Day By Sue Gascoyne
With Father’s Day just around the corner, children in nurseries and schools around the globe will be lovingly making cards and gifts to let their dad’s know just how special they are. Wonderful as these glued and crafted creations are, as adults we all know that you can’t beat the warm glow that you get from spending quality family time together. This got me thinking about Father’s Day a few years ago when my husband, two children and I took a trip to the beach. “It’s like being a child again” said a granddad to me. Three generations of a family (women and all) had gathered by an inland boating lake, with their model boats proudly lined up in a row. The men cradled, cleaned and caressed their boats, an ocean liner, tug boat, yacht and speedboat, before lining them up, side by side on the verdant grass, waiting for their turn on the water. The women had come prepared with chairs, flasks, sandwiches and lots of patience and good humour. Although they feigned boredom they were clearly almost as hooked as the men, enjoying the playful camaraderie of the occasion. It being nearly lunchtime, my children sat on a grassy bank, sandwich in hand, captivated as they watched the spectacle unfolded. As each vessel was carefully lifted onto the lapping water the suspense (of whether it would sink) was palpable as each child (and adult) perhaps imagined himself the captain of a ship, travelling to some distant shore. With concentration interspersed with laughter and frivolity, the men proceeded to take it in turns ‘sailing’ their boats. It was in one such bout of laughter, creased over like a child with the ’full-bodied’ experience, that
the granddad of the family explained to me how playing with toys made him feel. You could see it in his wide grin and eyes glinting with playfulness. The huge flashy speedboat (one of his son’s) had just had to be rescued by a tug (another son’s) in a dramatic manoeuvre, which clearly had tickled the father as well as the heckling women onlookers. Meanwhile my then five and eight year old (not to mention their Dad) sat watching mesmerised, drifting in distant shores judging by their glazed expressions. From doodling to sailing grown-up toy boats, even adults enjoy playing. Sat watching the adults and my children that day, it was difficult to tell the children and adults’ responses apart. It could so easily have been a game of conkers in the playground, the children carefully lining up their proud finds before making a selection and preparing for the ‘battle’. Play is all about the process and on that sunny day by the sea the process of play was apparent, as was the satisfaction, excitement and allure of distant shores. Whatever your plans this Father’s Day, make sure you make time for Dad’s to play. Sue is a published author, trainer, educational consultant and therapeutic play practitioner. Gardening Tips
on your
PLOT
Expand your horizons
Summer, sunshine and strawberries, June is a truly wonderful month! In this time of plentiful growth we take a look at making the most of your waste clippings by turning them into lovely rich compost to use next year, and also how to make the most of every inch of your space. Jobs for June:Take off the side shoots from tomato plants to avoid them becoming too bushy and overburdened with fruit. Water regularly. Garlic that was planted in the Autumn should be maturing now. Lift when the leaves start to shrivel and leave to dry in a warm spot. Keep planting - the moist soil, higher temperatures and long days are ideal growing conditions. French beans, courgettes and salad crops can all be sown now. Watch out for pests! Think about protecting brassicas before caterpillars start to become a problem.
Every year it amazes me how the plants respond so dramatically to the arrival of the warm weather. Anything sown or planted out in May seems to positively leap out of the ground and shoot skywards, in many cases quickly catching up with earlier sowings! Of course the lawn is no exception and if you don’t already have a composting system in place then why not set one up now and make use of some of those endless grass clippings? Ideally you want to have two (or even three) compost bins so that when one is ready to use for the garden you have another filling up and rotting down. You can buy allsorts of nifty looking, ready made, compost bins some even have clever devices that make it easy to turn the whole bin to help the waste break down - but you don’t need anything fancy. You can just start a compost heap in an out of the way corner, enclosing it with old pallets, or wire mesh wrapped around four stakes if you want to keep it looking a little neater. So what should you compost? Well any dead organic matter will decompose naturally but you should aim for a good mix of ‘green’ and ‘brown’ ingredients. Lawn trimmings, veg leaves and peelings provide the green element and you should add a reasonable balance of brown items such as shredded paper, straw, eggshells and even the contents of your vacuum cleaner bag. Turning the heap occasionally will accelerate the breakdown and covering with an old
carpet when it is full will also help. Leave for several months and you should have some great compost! June is also the time of year when it is easy to start to run out of space on your plot. Everything puts on amazing growth spurts and you are suddenly left wondering where you are going to plant out those tomatoes that you’ve been nurturing in the greenhouse, or finding you’ve no room for the cabbages that you’d like to be eating later in the year. Time to expand your horizons and make full use of containers and of your borders. Look at the different varieties of lettuce and salad crops many of these, along with cabbages, can add a splash of decorative, coloured foliage to your borders (and be eaten too!!!). Grow bags are wonderful for crops such as tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers. They’ll be happy in a sunny spot on your patio but do remember to water and feed regularly. Larger pots can house courgettes and pumpkins, with the exotic looking flowers adding a bright splash of colour. Even hanging baskets can get in on the grow your own act! Look for suitable strawberries or tomatoes and you could be treated to a bumper crop of luscious fruit tumbling down from above.

West Moors lady enlists for charity in challenge reserved for the military’s most elite force Courageous local shows her support for The Commando Spirit Appeal to raise thousands for Royal Marines charity It’s survival of the fittest as a West Moors lady tests her endurance by taking part in an arduous 30 mile training exercise designed to test the military’s most elite force. Jessica Grove, 31, from West Moors, will come face to face with one of the most difficult training terrains encountered by the Royal Marines when she takes part in the 2015 Survive The Yomp challenge. Part of the Commando Spirit Series of fundraising challenge events raising funds for The Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund, the training exercise is normally only experienced by Royal Marines Commandos. Jessica is one of the brave participants from across the world who will be taking part in the event in September. Jessica is endeavouring to raise £1000.00 for the Commando Spirit Appeal. The Highlands of Scotland is the setting for the annual Survive The Yomp and the 30 mile challenge will take place in and around Spean Bridge, home to the iconic Commando Memorial, and Achnacarry Castle. Participants will follow in the footsteps of thousands of Royal Marines who trained in the remote and unforgiving terrain to become “Commandos” and prepare for their pivotal roles in World War II; the area is not called “Commando Country” for nothing! It is especially important this year at 2015 marks the 75th anniversary of the formation of the British Commandos. Jessica said: “The Commando Spirit Appeal really struck a chord and when I heard about this challenge I thought now is the time for me to sign up and commit to take part. It’s a once in a lifetime experience that will push me to the absolute limit but the thought of raising so much money for such a worthwhile cause will give me the willpower to get through. “I’ve already had a lot of support from family, friends and colleagues and now I’m hoping the people of Westmoors and surrounding areas will get behind me too and sponsor my efforts to raise a fantastic sum for the Commando Spirit Appeal for the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund. “I haven’t come across a charity challenge like this so I’m also calling out to anyone in the local community to join me. If you want to create history and be part of this
once in a lifetime experience, join me in “Commando Country” and we will get through it together!” Sally-Anne Hunter, Commando Spirit Series Founder and Director, said: “Jessica has made a big commitment and for that we are both grateful and delighted to have her on board. Survive The Yomp should not be underestimated. This is one of the most physically and mentally demanding challenges which is why it is the final test all Royal Marines Commandos face to gain their green beret . “Jessica embodies everything Commando Spirit stands for – her courage, grit and determination will see her through and the memories she will take from this event will last a lifetime. Everyone involved in the event will be willing her to succeed and we hope the people of Westmoors back her campaign and support the Commando Spirit Appeal for the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund at the same time.” Major General Martin Smith, Commandant General of the Royal Marines said: “I am delighted Survive The Yomp will take place in iconic Commando Country and take us back to our old ‘yomping’ ground in and around Achnacarry, Scotland. I wish all participants the very best of luck, and extend my gratitude for their tremendous fundraising efforts.” The RMCTF has as wide a set of purposes as any Service charity, working to support those wounded and injured, as well as those still serving, by funding decompression activities, homecoming events and memorials. It also provides through-life support to those who have left the Corps or dependents who have lost loved ones in service. Importantly, a significant grant is also made to the next of kin of all Royal Marines killed in service within 48 hours. Want to help the rest? Then decide that green is best!
The Great Pacific Rubbish Patch There is a floating island of plastic rubbish, twice the size of Texas, caught in a current gyro between USA and Hawaii. The area is filled with plastic but doesn’t show up on satellite. While predicted in the mid 80s it was discovered in 1999 by Charles J Moore who sailed into it by mistake as he was returning from a yacht race. This problem is not unique to the Pacific. There are a few oceanic garbage patches throughout the world, including one on our doorstep in the North Atlantic. In a recent National Geographic article it was estimated that worldwide there are 5.25 trillion pieces of plastic debris in the ocean. Of that mass, 269,000 tons float on the surface, while some 4 billion plastic microfibers per square kilometre litter the deep sea.
Product of the month
Bio-degradable Bags from £1.99 per pack!
The knock on effect is a catastrophic loss of marine habitat and marine life as well as other wildlife and birds in particular. Small islands, already being swallowed up by the rubbish patches, become uninhabitable and an increasing amount of rubbish is being swept up on our coastlines. Furthermore, it means changes in tidal and wave patterns the impact of which we may not understand for 100s of years. And if we do nothing... who knows where it stops. We have a responsibility to stop this. We caused it! So always remember the 4 ‘R’s - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Recover. And we can reduce the amount of plastic floating around in the world by choosing biodegradable options whenever we can. So check out our website and decide that green is best! Traditional plastic bags take between 100 and 400 years to degrade and even then small particles will likely linger in the environment for 1000s of years. Our bags degrade fully within 12 to 18 months. We stock a full range of bags from large refuse sacks for rubbish and wheelie bins to smaller nappy sacks and dog waste bags. We also carry freezer bags (medium and large) and food waste caddy bags (in 3 sizes) which are even compostable!
