Are they just decorative? Are they just a shallow way to expose a person’s culture or are they a reminder of all these great experiences we have lived through them? WALTER JACQUES TAIEB Walter Jacques Taieb, who was classically educated at Juilliard, is a composer, conductor, conceptual artist, photographer, and the owner of the Las Vegas art gallery, Downtown Contemporary. His musical compositions have been performed at the Royal Albert Hall, the Royal Festival Hall, and the Sydney Opera House. His music has also been released by Sony Classical and RCA Red Seal. Taieb has conducted—both in recordings and live concerts—a large repertoire of music from Tchaikovsky to Wagner with such orchestras as the Moscow Symphony and the French National Orchestra. He composed the 1990s House music classic, I Luv U Baby by The Original and has written music for Vanessa-Mae, Cher, and Gloria Estefán. Throughout his musical career, Taieb has sold over 25 million records. Now expanding his creativity to conceptual art photography, Portraits Through Books is Taieb’s breakthrough into the worlds of Dada and Pop Art.
