FUTURE OF DOWNTOWN FEATU PANEL RED ISTS Developer Jen Weaver founded Weaver Buildings in 2014 in hopes of providing market-rate affordable housing to middle-income earners. As a licensed Architect, Interior Designer, and Realtor in the State of Texas, Weaver connects what design can do with market realities. Weaver Buildings developments emphasize an integrated development process to execute timely and cost-efficient designs, working around the simple strategy that it takes a team to make a building. In addition to knowing the ins and outs of the City process for constructing missing-middle housing in Austin, Weaver serves as Chair City of Austin Design Commission, joint-liaison on Downtown Commission and is co-chair for the Urban Land Institute Urban Council for Austin.
Annick Beaudet, MPA, AICP has over 20 years of experience in land use and transportation planning. Beaudet led the update to the City’s multimodal transportation plan, the Austin Strategic Mobility Plan (ASMP) and was colead for the City’s Land Development Code Revision. She has held positions in multiple city departments and currently serves as the City’s Mobility Officer leading the team at the City of Austin Project Connect Office that supports the Austin Transportation Partnership and Capital Metro with the implementation of the Project connect portfolio of projects.
Caitlyn Ryan is a member of the investment management team for Stream Realty Partners, one of Austin’s largest commercial property management companies. Ryan’s responsibilities include sourcing and executing new development and acquisition projects for the company. Over the past few years, Stream has acquired over 30 properties in the East Sixth Street district with plans to redesign the space to rehabilitate the street’s reputation. The recently announced plans include a wider variety of businesses which would bring a mix of uses back into the district - with plans to introduce hotels and office spaces that will stimulate daytime commercial activity.
Jim was named CEO and executive director of the Austin Theatre Alliance in May 2011 and has since become an Austin staple. Ritts was co-founder of Channel One Network, was CEO of Primedia and Digital Entertainment Network, he joined the Ladies Professional Golf Association as commissioner. In 2011 Ritts settled in Austin as the CEO and executive director for the Austin Theatre Alliance.

AUGMENTED REALITY With YARD, members of the public, planners, and designers can collaborate in an interactive and visual way to explore design ideas together. Explore the endless possibilities of real-time streetscape planning and design through an Augmented Reality (AR) application which allows you to place and move street furniture, trees, and art installations in any location.

PALM DISTRICT PLANNING INITIATIVE The Palm District Planning Initiative will guide future development in the district, linking land use, urban design, transportation, economic development, housing, public spaces, historic preservation, cultural arts, and social equity. In the subsequent stages, staff will refine the draft Vision Framework based on community input, evaluate scenarios, and develop the final Palm District Small Area Plan.

THE TRAIL FOUNDATION The Trail Foundation will highlight the various programs and activities happening on the Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail. TTF will highlight two upcoming projects that directly impact the downtown area: the Rainey Street Trailhead and Seaholm Waterfront projects. In addition, TTF will have a Plinko Board for folks to win TTF swag and prizes.

The Other Ones Foundation (TOOF) is a homelessness nonprofit working to build a future where all people experience equitable access to shelter, opportunity, and support. TOOF offers an array of humanitarian services all over Austin, and are currently building a transformational shelter complex at a sanctioned encampment in East Austin called the Esperanza Community. This shelter complex will allow hundreds of unhoused Austinites per year the stability they need to move into a more fulfilling and dignified chapter of their life.

MOVABILITY Promote Movability and our relationship with DAA. Encouraging companies to address employee commute issues in a manner that reduces drive along behavior. By reducing the number of car trips on our transportation system, our region can better manage traffic, employers and employees can save money, and our community benefits from less stressful, healthier, and more sustainable commutes.

DJ CHORIZO FUNK Texas born and raised, DJ Chorizo Funk, is one of the premiere sound selectors in the lone star state.
