Favorite Features Favorite Features of the House: We love to sit and the built-in window seats in the family room off the kitchen, drinking coffee in the morning or sipping wine and watching the sunset over the mountains across the lake. We also love to sit in either of the two porches on a rainy summer day, because any other time we’re more likely to be sitting on our expansive deck where we enjoy amazing lake and mountain views in complete privacy! We also love the Great Room, where we can enjoy the same amazing views while dining with our family or hanging out in front of the fireplace. While doing so we can listen to great music, with the built-in 5 zone Bose sound system. In fact, we can listen to great music pretty much everywhere in the house and even on both porches. Outside we love to sit and relax, read a book, or just hang out in one of several great spots: in an Adirondack chair on the dock, in a hammock, on a bench perched atop a rock overlooking our beach, or even on our swim raft. Another favorite is cooking with the family in the chef’s kitchen. The size and layout is perfect for collaborative cooking. The appliances are first rate, not to mention the amazing built-in coffee system. Favorite Features of the Neighborhood: First and foremost we enjoy that the location of the house provides exceptional privacy, but when we want to socialize, we are right around the corner from a very friendly neighborhood. We made several friends quickly, and the neighborhood hosts both fireworks and a barbeque annually. There is an excellent walking loop on Smith Point Road that can be extended via a path through the woods to Rollins Road. We also love that the location is the most convenient on the lake. It is the shortest driving distance from MA, it is close to shopping and restaurants in Gilford and Laconia (including farm stands and a movie theater). There are several good breakfast places close by, and we love the Ellacoya Barn and Grille for casual dining just up the street.

Lake Winnipesaukee New Hampshire’s largest and most famous lake, Winnipesaukee has been a tourist destination for more than a century. The Native American name for the lake means either “smile of the Great Spirit” or “beautiful water in a high place.” The third largest body of water in New England, it is surrounded by three mountain ranges. The wooded shoreline and crystal clear water of this spring-fed lake make it a popular summer destination. It is one of the best lake trout and salmon fishing waters in New England, and is ringed with numerous villages and towns that offer everything from boardwalks and water slides to public beaches and art galleries. All communities have public parks and docks.
