However, you will not be able to keep the flowers fresh for years when you choose this method. However, it will definitely preserve the flowers for a substantial amount of time.

Shellac solution If you want to preserve flowers that have seeds or berries, shellac solution would be a great choice. Mixing ethyl alcohol with half portion of shellac solution and spraying the solution on the flowers will keep it fresh for long. You need to however make sure that you wear protective masks while doing this and you should also choose a well ventilated area. The solution you used will not harm the flowers but


inhaling it in large quantities might not be good for health. Hence, it is always better to keep your hands sanitized after completing this process. The flowers will however remain good for long after the process.

Air-drying flowers If you tie together a bunch of flowers with a thread or an elastic band and then open the faces to make the shape of a fan and hang it upside down for a couple of weeks, you will be able to preserve flowers for long. When this process is done, the flowers become absolutely dry. You should make sure that direct sunlight is avoided. The shades of the flowers will be hushed a bit but the flowers will stay good for at least a year when you do this. Using microwave Flowers that are not fully grown can be preserved using this method. There are many flowers that cannot be air-dried easily. This is exactly where microwaves come into picture. Adding silica gel to the flowers while placing on the microwave will provide you with better results. The silica gel will act as the medium that gets heated up to preserve the flowers. You should heat the silica gel to a temperature of about 16 degrees in order to complete this process. You can do this easily at home.
