FRIGHT NIGHT

Calling all of Durham’s ghosts and ghouls! DPR will host a fall event for all ages including classic carnival games, a costume parade, and for those who love a fright, a haunted house that will have you “howling” with screams and laughter! Come out in your favorite spooky attire! We will be collecting canned goods to donate to a local food pantry. Please consider bringing a can or two! BARKTOBERFEST

TRUNK OR TREAT

Join the Holton staff for a fun-filled family event celebrating fall! The event involves the open trunks of cars displaying candy, and decorations. Costumes are not required but will make the event more exciting. Parents are encouraged to participate with their cars as well but it is not required. REMEMBRANCE DAY

Come join local veterans and friends to remember and honor the men and women who fought for our country. The Senior Holiday Party is one of Durham’s largest celebrations for Mature Adults. Mature Adults from across the Triangle will be on hand to celebrate life, friendship and to gather information about the companies that support their community. LASER LIGHT SHOW

Join DPR for a 30-minute festive holiday-themed laser light show! This free drive-in style event will offer music played through your car radio that is matched to the amazing light show viewed out your window. Reserve your parking spot today. Please remain in your car or assigned space unless visiting the restroom. Please visit www.dprplaymore.org for a full list of rules and answers to FAQs. The event is rain or shine but if the wind is too high or weather is too severe we will reschedule to the next night. Gates open one hour before showtime. At this event we will be collecting non-perishable food items for those in need in our community. If you are able, please bring an item from each person in your car. These will be collected at check-in. This is not required but we hope to collect a bounty of food to share with those who need it. Most outdoor special events will occur rain or shine. In the case of extreme cold weather, threat or warning of a tornado or hurricane, or thunder and lightning storms, the event will be cancelled. A decision to close athletic fields or cancel games and practices will be made at 4:30 p.m. during the week and 7:30 a.m. on weekends.
