Narratives of Safety Analysis Summary

that is imperative to create also a sense of home beyond the physical Queer Space of the Gut Level. In that sense, we asked ourselves how to create an ecosystem of safety that celebrates Queer joy and connections from the “home” scale up to the city realm? The following diagram explain how the particular aims regarding the overall ecosystem of safety that we want to achieve is related to the specific strategies that we are proposing:

From the analysis, it can be inferred that the narratives of safety from the Sheffield urban context are currently threatening the continuity of Queer community’s connections and self-expressions from the scale of Gut Level’s home (the building) up to the scale of the city. However, the analysis has also highlighted the potential of the spatial agencies and connections into build-up a sense oh “home” and safety from Gut Level’s home up to the city. Considering the urban as part of a broader network of the DIY Culture and addressing the current challenges of Gut Level as a physical space, we believe
