Riyadh WHOM Cook Book has been a long time coming and I am delighted that at the end of my tenure as Chair and in my final year in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with the drive and commitment of my fellow spouses and friends, we have finalized this book for the Saudi public and expat community. In this beautifully photographed book, the spouses of 20 ambassadors to the Kingdom invite readers to their homes and introduce the tastes of their respective countries. Many are family recipes and will bring unique flavours to your kitchen. My fellow WHOMs are wonderful hostesses and have brought together all their savoir faire to present a range of simple, as well as more elaborate, recipes which define both their countries and their own characters. It ranges from appetizing starters and savoury dishes to succulent meats and delicious desserts.

Our primary purpose in compiling this book is to celebrate the wealth of the culinary talent within Riyadh's spouse community and to give the readers in the Kingdom an opportunity to absorb new ideas and tastes and try these international recipes in their own kitchen. These recipes have been tried and tested and will be great to serve in vast range of occasions and events in Riyadh.

This is not a one-off initiative and I am certain that future WHOMs will update and introduce new recipes and ensure the book maintains its diversity and interest.

A special thank you to the WHOMs for their time, dedication and effort and Maria Cometti, who has been such an inspiration from the start and to her Sharakah Media team who have been a great support in this endeavour. Last but not least, this would not have been possible without our great sponsors, DUR and Ms Nermine Niskandarani.

Have pieces of the world in your plates. Enjoy cooking and eating! Bon appetit! Shahiat jayida.
