Embracing C.H.A.N.G.E. - Constant Hope And Never-ceasing Gravitational Evolution “Beware of The Man Who” Do you know about "The Man Who?" Well, "The Man Who" is the man that can always tell you about how he knew a "Man Who" to trump any good story of progress you may have to share that may lead to organizational change and success. This person has one thousand and one "The Man Who" stories of successful failures, but not one story of "I/We changed this, tried it a new way, and my God it worked!" That is not the enthusiasm of “The Man Who.” Evolutionary leaders in the throes of progress see C.H.A.N.G.E. as inevitable, a necessity for growth, and welcome it with open arms. Highly successful corporations are inhabited by pioneers (visionaries) that lead the methodology to those "Man Who" workers that characteristically oppose any progress, and are afraid of change and resist it at all cost. Leaders executing change may find that the comfort level of a few members of the organization may be at risk, and if not handled tactfully, change can cause a considerable amount of strain and conflict which could impact the potential for positive results. Akin to Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, there are 3 needs that people have in the work force, and those are: 1. To be regarded. 2. To be seen as skilled. 3. To have a place. These needs are the inspirations that influence our choice to acknowledge or oppose change. We make decisions through inspecting truths, taking a glance at our conviction framework, and choosing how we feel about the change. This reasoning methodology including realities, convictions and qualities, helps us assess what is essential. While convictions are subjective and can't be demonstrated, truths may present tangible goals. While both truths and convictions are critical in choice making, it is our values that have the last say and will eventually influence our decision to: Accept or reject C.H.A.N.G.E. Values, in this manner, control our choices and are the foundation for our life. When confronted with the possibility of progress, we have to ask, "What impact will this change have on me in the end? Will it help my respect toward oneself and enhance my

associations with others? Will it help me advance in the organization?" Remember, how the change adds up for every one of us is, "In what manner will this influence me?" Our fundamental human need is to feel a feeling of worth. We will oppose any changes that negate our qualities, even if these qualities are profoundly established convictions that influence the bearing of our life. "The Man Who" syndrome thinkers are of the mind to resist no matter what, even if they see the benefits, they are engulfed by the fear of doing something different and new, and they cling to “The Man Who” syndrome like clinging to the sides of a rescue boat. On the other hand, transcending and trans - essential leaders are of the mindset, "has it worked before and can it work for me given my circumstances?" Emotions are a part of the equation when dealing with people, and they are real and must be handled with brilliance and tact...
