AM: A podcast simply gives me the opportunity to network with and talk to amazing women entrepreneurs some of which I'd never spoken to before the podcast and never know all specifics on their journey prior to the interview. "The goal is to give our listening audience hope and courage to life their best life in faith not fear."
AM: The very first episode was definitely memorable because it was the launch and it was on my Birthday. My guest was my business bestie who motivates me. She runs two six-figure income generating businesses and is always eager about blessing others with insight and knowledge. The second most memorable show was when I had the pleasure of interviewing Lucinda Cross. I was so shocked to receive an email from her team about her desire to be a part of the podcast. She's phenomenal is all that she does and the interview was no different.

This show encourages women to have it all with highly functioning systems, mindset shifting and skillset strategies that maximize their time, talents and profitability. Health Chat w/ Coach Jean An Interview with Jean Turner V &P LifeStyle Magazine VPLM: Tell us about your Podcast? lifestyle changes. Depending on the JT: "Health Chat w/Coach Jean" is a world-wide health and healing podcast where we educate, empower, discuss, debate and debunk all things related to health, healing, and wholeness: Body, Mind, and Spirit. The purpose of my podcast is to share my testimony, teach others how to practice stewardship over their health, and provide my listeners the tools so that they can walk in as well as maintain their healing. Health begins in the womb! We feature content that is relevant to everyone across the age continuum (i.e. from cradle to grave) because I believe it is never to early or too late for individuals, families and communities to make healthier NOVEMBER 2020 SPECIAL EDITION V&P MAGAZINE I 8
background of my guest (i.e. healthcare professional, advocate, or someone who experienced a health challenge), an episode of "Health Chat w/Coach Jean" may be either educational, conversational, or I may conduct an interview. VPLM: Why did you choose to launch a podcast? JT: I've committed the past 33 years of my life to providing nursing care and education to my patients. I chose to take a leap of faith and launch because of my passion for health and wellbeing as well as my desire to assist others in their wellness journey. In 2018, a "suddenly" health challenge changed my life and

perspective. I went from having zero health issues and no meds to chemotherapy in zero to five seconds (or so it seemed). So launching my podcast is part of my mission, my purpose as stated above. VPLM: Please tell us about a memorable episode? JT: My podcast officially launched on June 4 of this year so it's fairly new. To date, my most memorable episode (#5) is "Health Disparities: Politics & Health (Part I)" because this is when my son, Lamar joined me on the show. It was the day before the 4th of July and with all the protest, political, social unrest, and injustice occurring, I wanted to get a millenial perspective on this topic. While it has always been relevant, it has now become news worthy in this age of COVID-19. My second most memorable episode (#10) afforded me the opportunity to connect with a former colleague whom I haven't seen in 10 years. We came together to educate and bring awareness to the benefits of breastfeeding for both mom & baby as well as how men can promote and support it for the overall health of their child (children).
VPLM: What's your favorite podcast to listen to (besides your own)? JT: I enjoy listening to "The Nspirational Treasure Radio & Podcast Show" on Positive Power XXI Radio. It's inspirational and spiritual without being traditional (i.e. very nontraditional faith-based program). BTW: It's actually spelled "Nspirational." VPLM: Why in your opinion does Podcasters Rock? JT: Podcasters "Rock" because of its platform. The support received allowed me to say, "You know what? I CAN do this! It provides those of us who are unknown but who have a voice, a message to share with the world! I am reaching individuals, families and communities on a global platform that I may never have reached. I have the opportunity to do what I enjoy, fulfill my purpose, and share my passion! V&P SPECIAL EDITION I PODCASTERS ROCK
ML: I laughed, cried, cheered when I interviewed an Olympic bronze medalist. As this lady shared her story of rising from the foster system, to finding her strength, moving to win that award past age 25 yet lives with me. As a matter of fact, our conversation landed her on the cover of a magazine. The CEO of Bshani/ Vercay Radio invited me to be a guest on his show. Very aware of my story, he brilliantly crafted the conversation so I was comfortable to reveal why I quit my job of 26 years, the impact of domestic abuse, and he brought it back to the fact his sister was killed during a domestic attack. That conversation trended on LinkedIn and the following year, I got a call from a woman, looking to become a podcaster, and her story was one of rape while serving in the military. She felt safe enough to share her story with me VPLM: What's your favorite podcast to listen to (besides your own)? ML: Definitely Oprah, Up Front (news), 5-minute success – the podcast, Joel Osteen, How I Got Here with Dave Fiore VPLM: Why do Podcasters Rock? PODCASTERS ROCK! V&P LifeStyle Magazine speaks with #PodcastersRock,Founder, Sonja Keeve!
Sonja Keeve is the CEO of Sistas with a Voice Podcast Network, where she teaches and trains women entrepreneurs how to launch powerful podcasts in 30 days or less. She is also the Founder of Podcasters Rock which is the Facebook Community Group for both aspiring and seasoned entrepreneurs, who want to really kill it in the game of podcasting. She is the host of her own Podcast Show, Inspiring Nations with Sonja Keeve, where she interviews women from across the globe that have stories of how they inspire others every day.
Sonja’s journey of podcasting came from a social media dare, where entrepreneurs were tasked with coming up with a product or service they wanted to start, but you had to be ready to launch it immediately! By nature, she is someone who loves to inspire other women and is a HUGE social butterfly! She had been hearing more and more about podcasting, and when she spoke with an expert, and learned more about podcasting, she thought “hey this is something I think I can really be good at, because I love to interview others, and love to talk!”
NOVEMBER 2020 SPECIAL EDITION V&P MAGAZINE I 15
Keeve stated, “But of course, I needed guests! So, I posed a question to my social media network and asked, "If I started a Podcast, would you be my guest?” To her surprise 50 women said yes! She had no idea what the show would be called, no idea how to launch it, but quickly got it together. On March 10, 2018, she launched Inspiring Nations. About three months into the show, she was being heard across the United States and three countries. By July of that same year, she sold out of her entire guest spots for the remainder of 2018. By 2019, she partnered with Creative Broadcasting and Talk Radio, LLP where the show was being heard in over 164 countries. She is now in her second season, and shares that “this journey has been the best decision I have ever made! And now I am truly inspiring nations!” Since the show, she created the Facebook Group Podcasters Rock. This community collaborates with one another and she gets to share tips for hosting a successful show. Because she has enjoyed podcasting, she now teaches other entrepreneurs how to launch their very own podcast show. This was near and dear to her because when she began researching Women in Podcasting, she found statistics that showed women represent only 22 percent of all podcasters (men/women) in the world. She was shocked at the low representation. “As women we have so much expertise and a voice that needs to be heard, but many times we are not given the platform to share our stories”, said Keeve. She wanted to change that narrative. Sonja stated, “the only way to change that statistic is to create our own platforms, and podcasting offers this tool to do just that!"
In her online classes where she works with women to launch their podcast shows, she teaches them live so her students can ask questions. Her learning philosophy is something she learned during her MBA days, of learning it on Monday, apply it on Tuesday and then come back and share your results. Her students who have taken this course have successfully launched their own podcast shows in 30 days or less. She believes in learning with ease and no stress. Sonja emphasizes that podcasting is one of those things you really must do the work, so you get the most benefit out of it! When she sees how successful her students are, it further confirms for her that God truly put her on the right path. She has had the pleasure of having amazing guests on her show! Most recently she had both Amy Porterfield. Podcast Host of the Top Ranked Business Podcast: Online Marketing Made Easy and Kaliliah Wright, CEO of Mess in a Bottle. It has been her honor to showcase these women and the hundreds of women before them that said yes to be a guest on her show. This journey for her continues to help her inspire the next generation to come. Since launching her podcast show and group, she has had the pleasure to be asked to speak at live women conferences, sharing her journey. Every time she thinks her story has no significant meaning, someone reaches out to thank her and share that they too have experienced some of ups and downs of their journey in finding their purpose.
"The only way to change that statistic is to create our own platforms, and podcasting offers this tool to do just that!”
NOVEMBER 2020 SPECIAL EDITION V&P MAGAZINE I 16
Inspiring Nations She has also participated in two book anthologies entitled: Women Inspiring Nations and From Brokenness to Wholeness. Both books tell her personal story in her chapter that truly shaped her to be the woman, and entrepreneur she is today. Sonja works a full time corporate job in the Mortgage Industry. She is also a proud wife married to her best friend, Duane for over 22 years and they share three amazing grown children. They became first time grandparents. Sonja’s family means the world to her! She states, “Their love and support have guided me. Every day I am so thankful for all my blessings. My family would say they are lucky to have me, but I truly say I am blessed that they choose me!”
Sonja says “Everyday I try to be the inspiration for others to show them that you are never too old to find your purpose. I found mine later in life, but I believe that was truly intentional. Because my experiences have shaped me, and the tough lessons I learned along the way have strengthened me. I live with no regrets, and as long as I have breath in my body, I hope to continue to inspire women everywhere.” Her goal is to teach and train over 100K women to become a podcaster. Why? Because the world is waiting! For more information on how you can be a guest on her show or enroll in her online Podcast email her at skempowers@gmail.com

An interview with Mercy Myles-Jenkins VPLM: Please tell us about your Podcast?
Dinner with the Duchess
MMJ: I am the host of a Podcast entitled Dinner with the Duchess, where I host various guests for dinner sitting at the Empowerment table circling topics around Life, Business & Faith. My guests are authors, entrepreneurs, and Ministry Leaders that share life lessons to inspire and empower others to step out into their calling and wealthy place. The podcast target audience is Christians who have a desire for more but are unsure how to step forward into the unknown. They know that they are smart, sharp and have experienced success in the corporate world. However, their next move requires a larger measure of faith. This is where they are challenged to stretch their faith, to believe in building and providing an income for themselves through the work of their hands. VPLM: Why did you choose to launch a podcast? MMJ: I decided to launch a podcast because initially I thought it would be a great way to give practice to my clients, who enrolled into the Author’s Finish Line Academy, to write and publish their books. I wanted to extend the academy to equip them to speak for interviews, podcasts, media and on speaking platforms. But as I ventured into it, I realized how much I enjoyed the process of interviewing and following my natural inquisitiveness brought out interesting elements in the conversations that benefited us all.
The week before I interviewed her God told me that there would be a rise of Kidpreneurs during this season and to be watchful to cultivate the entrepreneurial spirit over my children through modeling and mentoring. I was so impressed with the business that Nylah and her mother Danita were building. It was a confirmation to me as a mother to continue to motivate parents and children alike to work with what is in their hands. VPLM: What's your favorite podcast to listen to (besides your own)? MMJ: My favorite podcast to listen to is on the subject of Real Estate Investing. Bigger Pockets, Max Maxwell and the All In guys are some of my favorites to listen to. I listen to their podcasts because it is educational, insightful and motivating. I am a Real Estate Investor at heart, and so I am always looking to learn new strategies to build my skill set and to remain motivated to build my business in this area. VPLM: Why do Podcasters Rock? MMJ: Podcasters Rock, because it provides training and encouragement to a global community of female podcasters to support them in their podcasting journeys. VPLM: Where can our readers connect with you? MMJ: I can be contacted via Facebook and or my website. https://www.facebook.com/mercy.jenkins.1 www.LegacyDrivenConsulting.com
This meant that I decided to broaden the podcast outside of the Academy but would host the Dinner with the Duchess Author Circle Edition, to meet the original need to support my clients. VPLM: Please tell us about a memorable episode? MMJ: I really enjoyed interviewing a young girl named Nylah. She is a five year old Kidpreneur. With the help of her mother, Danita Hinnant, she created her own edge control, hair product. This podcast was special to me because it occurred during the summer of 2020, during Covid-19.
..."IÂ realized how much I enjoyed the process of interviewing"...

DO IT AFRAID!
with Shaundra Dineen
VPLM: Please tell us about your podcast? SD: My Podcast is titled "Do It Afraid with Shaundra Dineen." The purpose of the podcast is to help individuals move beyond fear and live a life of confidence and courage by moving forward even if fear is present. This concept reaches across all races, genders, cultures, and nationalities. Everyone deals with fear at some point and it is important to recognize it when it is present and move forward anyway.
The "Do It Afraid" Podcast challenges individuals to ask themselves a series of questions then make a conscious decision on how to move forward. Have you ever had a feeling hit you that was so strong it literally stopped you in your tracks? Made your palm sweat and your heart rate increase? It was so heavy that you could not move? It literally paralyzed you? I have. That feeling was fear. Fear will paralyze you and prevent you from moving forward in life. It will rob you of your dreams, goals, and ambition. It will ultimately take over your life.

I am one of them and cannot wait to share my story along with the stories of others. Do It Afraid is a lifestyle that builds courage, confidence, and boldness so that you can have the life you have always imagined! You will become fearless.... VPLM: Why did you choose to launch your podcast? SD:I decided to launch my podcast because I felt it was the quickest way to get the message of "Do It Afraid" out to the world. I am passionate about providing examples of fearless living through practical principles and real life examples of how others have conquered fear. Podcasting was the most effective way to do that. It connects people that would otherwise never meet. VPLM: Please tell us about a memorable episode? SD: My most memorable episode is titled "Time to Soar." I interviewed Angela Aja, Author of "Time to Soar." At the time of the interview, I was dealing with areas of personal transition and was paralyzed in a place of fear and indecisiveness. This interview spoke to my soul in a way no other guest had. It rendered me speechless at points throughout the interview, which is hard to do. Not only was it life changing for me, but my audience as well. I still get messages from individuals saying how much that episode blessed their life. Angela and I developed a friendship that has been mutually impactful. We went from total strangers to good friends because of a podcast interview. VPLM: What's your favorite podcast to listen to (besides your own)? SD: UnSilenceHer, Speak. Shout. Sing hosted by Chelsea Jennings. Chelsea offers a perspective on female leadership and the voice of the female leader that is perfect for the time we are in right now. It's a very encouraging and empowering platform. I encourage every female leader or aspiring leader to check her podcast out. It's powerful! VPLM: Why do Podcasters Rock?
