Foreword

E

ducation is very important for the overall progress of the society and the human wellbeing. In this modern era, Asian

countries do have a great potential in providing affordable education to the local and international students. In Malaysia, there are more than 62 higher education institutions (HEIs) including satellite branches of the foreign universities that offers biomedical and non-biomedical degree programmes. The AIMST University (AIMST) is the first private university in the northern part of the Peninsular Malaysia that offers various biomedical and nonbiomedical degree programmes. As a founder of the AIMST, I am really delighted; because, on March 15, 2016, university has completed sixteen (16) glorious years.

A BIRD’S EYE VIEW OF THE AIMST UNIVERSITY

Name: Dr. Rajesh Perumbilavil Kaithamanakallam Nationality: Indian Designation: Professor Affiliation: Faculty of Medicine My journey in AIMST University started on March 2, 2005. AIMST University is AU, AU being the chemical symbol for gold. AIMST’s astute corporate culture, the modern teaching-learning methods adopted, and its stakeholders helped university to make a significant impact in the education industry within 15 years. AIMST offers a wonderful environment for learning, research and it’s the perfect venue to host conferences with the infrastructure and facilities available. It is painful though that the best news about AIMST never gets the mileage that it deserves. For the academic and non-academic achievements of the university to be known to the world, we need more students and staff to act as exemplary ambassadors. Last 10 years, I am here and have been very fruitful personally and emotionally, as I enjoy the process of ‘educating tomorrow’s leaders’. .

Name: Dr. Kaveti Balaji Nationality: Indian Designation: Snr. Associate Professor Affiliation: Faculty of Pharmacy Indeed, it gives me an immense pleasure to share my experiences at AIMST. I have been working as a faculty member in Faculty of Pharmacy, AIMST University since March 2006. It is one of the premier private sector universities in northern region, Kedah, Malaysia. When I joined the university, it was functioning on a private campus at Amanjaya and then we moved to our own campus at Semeling in April, 2007. It was a great feeling for me to see a well-built, beautiful greenery campus and with state of art facilities carved a wonderful place to work. The faculty of pharmacy was started in August 2005 with an initial intake of 50 students. The first batch students were successfully graduated in October 2010. Our undergraduate programme was accredited by Pharmacy Board of Malaysia in 2009 for three years. Since its inception, the faculty of pharmacy was striving hard to achieve the goals and mission of the university.

Name: Dr. Endang Herminajeng Nationality: Indonesian Designation: Lecturer Affiliation: Faculty of Dentistry

Name: Dr. K. Marimuthu Nationality: Indian Designation: Snr. Associate Professor Affiliation: Faculty of Applied Sciences

My first service abroad in this mesmerizing campus at foothills of Gunung Jerai started in 2010. In AIMST Dental Faculty, working atmosphere is very exciting and friendly. I enjoy sharing the scientific knowledge, clinical skills and cultural essence with my Malay, Indian, Indonesian, Chinese, and British colleagues. AIMST has exposed me to newer system of teaching and education. The cordial relation between students and fellow colleagues has made me feel at home. As a family in the faculty, we are in a unique position to solve the hurdles and support others passion to teach and research. With every rolling batch of students we are pleased to exchange the excellence to sustain and uphold the trust of our patients. I’m proud to contribute for the talented group of students, who have already made AIMST University globally notable. Thank you.

My journey with AIMST University started in July 2005 from Amanjaya campus. I started my career as an academician at faculty of applied sciences after completing my postdoctoral fellowship from USM, Malaysia. Twenty over batch of students have been graduated from faculty of applied sciences. Glad to see AIMST students who are well recognized in the country for their knowledge in the biotechnology industries and for pursuing their higher education and research nationally and internally. The green campus of AIMST has excellent facilities and is a good environment for teaching and research. At this juncture, I wish to congratulate all the academic staff and management team member’s contributions for making the excellence to reach the vision and mission of the university. I am so proud to be the part of AIMST family to witness its growth to its heights.

Name: Dr. Khoo Kim Kwang Nationality: Malaysian Designation: Adjunct Professor Affiliation: Faculty of Dentistry When the Dental School first started at Amanjaya Campus with its first batch of dental students, there were only 5 teaching staff. Then a couple of new Indian graduates joined in .We had to work through lunch hours to prepare teaching aids and materials for the practical sessions, in order to keep the students occupied with minimal equipment and facilities. The junior staff had to be trained and instructed as what and how to teach. It was during those difficult situations that emotional attachment to the school has developed. We do have wonderful facilities; however, I sincerely hope that the dental school will keep the momentum to add more cutting edge facilities in years to come.

Name: Ms. Ir Syafrah Binti Abd Jalil Nationality: Malaysian Designation: Lecturer Affiliation: Faculty of Engineering and Computer Technology I really enjoy teaching and on top of that a wonderful atmosphere at AIMST is fascinating for both staff and students. The natural beauty of the AIMST is really good and we enjoy it. In fact, I feel lucky because the AMST campus is so peaceful and hence it is a great place especially for students. In just 15 years, AIMST has made an impact in Malaysia and the region. I am lucky; I am a part of the AIMST University. Thank you AIMST for giving me wonderful experience and opportunities to grow further. Name: Dr. Muhammad ZahidIqbal

In 2009, I was promoted and responsibility to Head the Admission Division was given to me. I took it as a real challenging job where I have gained lots of unexplained experience. The green garden campus, encouraging colleagues makes working life in AIMST as pleasant as possible. First time, when I visited the university campus, I was enchanted by the serenity and beauty of the university’s new campus. I accepted instantaneously the offer of employment at AIMST. The task given to me was to establish a Clinical Skills Center of international standard at AIMST. This was achieved and the center has now become one of the best in Malaysia. Students who have been trained in clinical skills and procedures have shown proficiency in clinical skills prior to their ward training. To enhance training, books and materials have been produced in the unit to enable firm students’ knowledge and skills. Every year, 200 students are going through training and have become the envy of students from other universities. This is evidenced by their performance during ward training at the hospitals where they demonstrate versatility in the performance of skills and procedures.

Name: Dr. Md. Matiullah Khan Nationality: Bangladeshi Designation: Associate Professor Affiliation: Faculty of Medicine

Name: Dr. Nanditha Suresh Nationality: Indian Designation: Associate Professor Affiliation: Faculty of Dentistry

Working at the AIMST University is my one of the most precious experience since I graduated. I joined AIMST University in 2006 as an administrative officer. It was a wonderful experience in joining a new university hoping to flourish together with its expansion and progress.

I joined the Faculty of Medicine at AIMST University in September 2012; I have been at AIMST for almost two and half years now. For me, it has been a wonderful experience so far. Apart from the world class campus, AIMST boasts a diverse faculty comprising of some outstanding lecturers and physicians from Malaysia and abroad. AIMST has created a truly world class teaching and learning environment in the campus and has established state of the art facilities and infrastructure to conduct advanced level research in applied science and medicine. I truly believe that under the dynamic leadership of a highly dedicated and experienced team at the faculty and university level, AIMST will soon become the center of excellence in under graduate and graduate education and academic research. I am really happy being a part of AIMST endeavor to become a truly world class institute of learning and innovation.

My affiliation to this University dates back to the time when AIMST was Asian Institute of Medicine Science and Technology. Working here has been a life changing experience for me to say the least. The lush greenery, breath taking picturesque beauty of the campus made me fall instantly in love with this University when I first joined. The teaching environment here is very pleasant and state of the art equipment’s and facilities are really wonderful. To single phrase my whole experience here, “AIMST is a magical place that is better experienced by oneself rather than described”!

In 2007, AIMST University officially moved to its new campus. I always wanted the university to grow and felt that there cannot be any substitute as wonderful and unique as AIMST University. It makes me even proud as the university is the first private university in the northern part of country and it managed to make an impact in various fields. University is very young like a ‘teenager’. This ‘teenager’ is indeed one of the best in the country, I feel. Name: Mr. Nashri Yakob Nationality: Malaysian Designation: Lecturer Affiliation: SGFS I’ve been with AIMST for the past 7 years, and it has been a positive experience. I came from a different nature of work environment i.e. manufacturing environment so it is quite a change coming into the nature of academic industries that gives me great opportunity to utilize my industrial experience. However, I really like the fact that within a short time I got to know so many people across the academic and support services, and everyone has been really welcoming. AIMST do have very comprehensive and inclusive academic facilities. With such facilities, I can see continuous growth of AIMST in all areas such as academic curriculum, campus life, students’ affairs, social contributions and employees’ fringe benefits from time to time. Geographically, AIMST is just located at the outskirt of busy Sungai Petani town separated by Semeling river bridge but is surrounded by the country-side environment, rivers, mountainous forest and beaches which make me love this place most! After all, I can say that AIMST is a “People’s University”.

Name: (Dr.) Sundram Karupiah Nationality: Malaysian Designation: Senior Lecturer Affiliation: Faculty of Pharmacy It gives me a great honor to share my experience in AIMST University. The University also provides best work experience for all the staff who hails from different countries. The academic staff and the AIMST management are showing continued effort and commitment in all the aspects of teaching and learning which will provide skills and enhanced learning opportunities to the students. Currently, AIMST University is widening the scope by taking positive steps to build links with the leading universities and international research centers. With this efforts and continuous support from AIMST management, I am sure AIMST University will achieve its vision to be a world class university soon. It is my honor to be a part of this prestigious University.

Name: Mr. George Selvaraji a/l Jacob Nationality: Malaysian Designation: Office Assistant Affiliation: Faculty of Dentistry The AIMST University was started in the year 2000 at Amanjaya, Sungai Petani. At that time it was just a row of shop lots. The environment for an institution was limited for unlike other universities in Malaysia. Enrolment was less; shortage of Facilities, Lecturers, Lecture theatres at this initial stage. The new campus of the university is a beautiful area of 240 acre at the foot of a hill. There are man-made and natural unused mining pools within the compound. The architects had made a wonderful job creating beautiful buildings and well planned campus. Now it can boast of its many faculties including student’s hostel, staff apartments and even bungalows for officials and visitors to stay. Students and their parents are impressed to witness such a world class institution in Kedah Darul Aman. Today, the university has all the faculties, professors, lecturers, laboratories with latest equipment, lecture theatres, world-class in-door and out-door sports stadium. At this point we are proud to see such a university progressing to produce students in the Medical, Dental and all other fields. We, the staff will be leaving one day because of age and other reasons but world will see the AIMST University is standing firmly to be one of the best universities in region. Name: Ms. Kaveta Supramaniam Nationality: Malaysian Designation: Administrative Officer Affiliation: Registry I am deeply honored to write this message on the occasion of 16th anniversary of the AIMST University. Our staffs have been working relentlessly to achieve AIMST vision and mission. We can now build on these recent accomplishments with new

strategic directions. A succession of excellent accomplishments of AIMST University has shown our efforts were not in vain. Name: Mr. Mohanarao Atchanah Nationality: Malaysian Designation: Lecturer Affiliation: SGFS I was the first Physics lecturer and the Head of Science Department for the Foundation in Science programme.. I was working as a parttimer. I had the unique opportunity not only to teach the pioneer batch of students but also witness the transformation of AIMST into a full-fledged comprehensive university with a range of programmes covering the health sciences, applied sciences, management and social sciences. In 2006, I stopped working as part-timer for AIMST because of my appointment as a Principal in a Government school. After my retirement in 2011, I rejoined AIMST as a full-time Physics lecturer. The AIMST campus is really great. I enjoy working as a lecturer and I treasure my interactions with my students. Due to my association with AIMST since its inception and seeing its growth and partly due to my love for teaching Physics to the Foundation students, I will always have a soft spot for AIMST University! Because of university’s rapid progress and achievements, I feel that AIMST is the best.

Name: Dr. Srikumar Padmalayam Sadanandan Nationality: Indian Designation: Associate Professor Affiliation: Faculty of Medicine I joined AIMST University in year 2008. That was the time that the TV’s in India were playing the jingle, ‘Malaysia Truly Asia”, and true enough, I found Malaysia Truly Asia! The green campus was really breathtaking and I am still enraptured by it. The colleagues are so warm and welcoming and everyone helpful and cooperative. Students are bright and innovative in their approach, eager to learn. The teaching was something totally different from what I was used to in India!! With learning outcomes, objectives and Bloom’s taxonomy and no clinical practice! However, over the past 6 years, I have learned and enhanced my skills at teaching, thanks to regular medical education sessions and inputs from the MQA. I am really proud to be a part of AIMST University, and I am sure that AIMST University will scale new heights and be an international university to be reckoned with! Name: Ms. Veni a/p R. Name: Ms. Wong Lai Kun Nationality: Malaysian Designation: Lecturer Affiliation: Faculty of Allied Health Profession (FAHP), School of Nursing

I made up my mind to believe that the grass is greener here in AIMST and I chose to use the opportunities available and what I am today I owe a considerable part of it to AIMST.

Picturesque walkways weave through lush greenery. The design with ponds takes on a different charm blend into the peaceful environment. This is the description of AIMST University from my view.

Name: Dr. Jern Benchaporn Lertanantawong Nationality: Thai Designation: Senior Lecturer (May 2009 to May 2013) Affiliation: Faculty of Applied Sciences

I am four years old as lecturer in School of Nursing. I have learned, if want to embark on teaching in nursing, two things that needed – drive and passion. I am very fortunate to have a good team of caring and encouraging nursing lecturers. Our team spirit is great, we are growing and now we are not merely colleague but also very good friends. The management of the university is very supportive by all means. Thanks to AIMST University for making an ideal and conducive learning and living experience for our students and staffs. Name: Dr. Bharathi Sengodan Nationality: Indian Designation: Snr. Associate Professor Affiliation: Faculty of Medicine “Nothing is more honorable than a grateful heart” so I start with immense gratitude to the founder and visionary leader of AIMST university YBhg Dato’ Seri Utama Dr S Samy Vellu for the opportunity given to me to serve in AIMST for the past 10 years. Christine Lagarde said ‘Unless we take action on climate change, future generations will be roasted, toasted, fried and grilled’, knowing that truth, I feel like a wild card winner being here in AIMST green campus close to nature’s flora and fauna. Starting my career as a practicing pathologist and a teacher, unexpectedly teaching became a lifelong passion and I propelled myself into the world of mentoring that gave me the sense of satisfaction and joy when the sparks of knowledge are ignited. Students are of all categories as in any university but they certainly made a positive difference in my life. Being a part of AIMST for over a decade, many colleagues and leaders have crossed my path and I stood to learn from them, what to do and more importantly what not to be and this rich experience has taught me to change the way I react to them rather than for them to go my way.

My 4 years at AIMST University were a wonderful time for me and my family. It was a great opportunity, giving me valuable experience in my academic career. The Department of Biotechnology, Faculty of Applied Sciences is a good place for learning and pursuing research in my field of Nano-biosensors. Living in AIMST was a pleasure for me and my family, with many good friends, peace, and a calm, green environment, and a healthy life as well. The AIMST university campus is really great. I miss AIMST University campus life. Name: Mr. Girish Kumar Chandrasekharan Nationality: Indian Designation: Senior Lecturer Affiliation: Faculty of Engineering and Computer Technology In short time, AIMST University has grown to a premier university in the country and region. I am proud to be a part of AIMST University which has such dedicated faculty and bright students. The university emphasizes on imparting Knowledge Based Teaching and Training rather than old curriculum and the results are evident by the feedbacks from healthcare, science and technology sectors in Malaysia. I am sure that the university will continue to serve the society and become a center of excellence for research and innovation in science and technology. I would personally thank all those who have involved in bringing the institution to national and international level

Name: Dr. Kazi Selim Anwar Nationality: Bangladeshi Designation: Senior Lecturer Affiliation: Faculty of Medicine Overall impression: Good atmosphere for teaching and learning (TL). Teaching: I like TL methods, particularly, PBL & PALS strategies of student centered active learning methods. Staying apart from conducting separate OSCE & OCPE for assessing student’s knowledge objectively, I appreciate the blended OSCE+OSPE method simultaneously. It saves, time, energy, manpower but facilitates the students for being a one-stop examination center giving equal probability of assessing their knowledge more rationally. The students: Simply good, talented, devoted and hardworking. Colleagues: Good, cordial and helpful. In short, AIMST is a great place to work and study. Name: Ms. Kayathri Krishnan Nationality: Malaysian Designation: Administrative Officer Affiliation: Faculty of Dentistry I am Kayathri Krishnan serving AIMST University since 25th January 2002. Name: Mr. Syubass Chandraa Rajindran Nationality: Malaysian Designation: Officer Affiliation: International Office To know AIMST is to love AIMST. I was a typical student out there, with dreams to study abroad (or at least away from home). When I was introduced to AIMST, I refused to know more….until I saw the beautiful green campus for real. It was love at first sight. The mesmerizing architecture itself was convincing enough for me to make my decision. I lived a well-balanced lifestyle with a good mixture of academic and extracurricular activities. During my final year BSc (Hons) in Business and Marketing, AIMST), I was one of the two lucky students who were given the opportunity to be a part of an exchange programme with Kedge Business School in Bordeaux, France. A wonderful international exposure I got there that includes traveling to many European countries namely, Italy, Spain, UK and the whole France is still floating in my memory. Upon completion of my education, AIMST absorbed me to work in its International Office (at AIMST). Being a home groomed student, at AIMST, I have a strong sense of belonging. On top of it, the trust that Management has on me is always a motivation factor for me to continue delivering my best. My senses are still whispering to me that my relationship with AIMST will continue and the best is yet to come. Thank you for the love, AIMST University. I love you too.

Name: Sivachandran A/L Parimannan Nationality: Malaysian Degree Programme: BSc, MSc and PhD in Biotechnology Enrolled: 2006-2014 My journey at AIMST University was a rather long one. I was here for 9 years. Overall it was a pleasant and enjoyable journey. Although pleasant but it was not always smooth. There were ups and downs, but what I liked about this university (especially about my faculty) is that faculty accepts their shortcomings. Based on the feedback from students, faculty takes necessary steps to fix the loopholes to improve. This style of faculty was admirable; because, shortcomings are

common as this is rather a new university. Delightful and impressive attitude of faculty member to adapt to students need and to improve the students’ performance was really appreciable. I have joined AIMST University for my foundation programme after completing my matriculation in Myanmar. Currently, I am in my fourth year of MBBS programme. Joining this university is my first experience of studying in foreign country. However, due to the facilities such as sport center and accommodation provided by AIMST, my experience in staying abroad became quite enjoyable. The international office also helps the international students in all possible ways. For the academic aspect, AIMST provides professional lecturers with experiences who can guide the students well and also facilities such as clinical skills centre, laboratories, anatomy museum, anatomy dissection hall where students can practice their practical skills. Moreover, AIMST MBBS is accepted by WHO which can allow AIMST graduates to practice medicine almost worldwide.

When I was in high school, I heard lots of good things about the university. The very first time, when I stepped into the AIMST campus, I was amazed by the greenery and a lovely environment. University campus is pretty cool with many trees and blossoms lined between those uniquely designed buildings, hostels and roads. In AIMST, I learnt to discipline myself as well as to make decisions. I still remember my first day in AIMST. As I am from Sarawak, I have lesser chances to encounter friends of other races. Hence, I was so excited to meet new friends from Indian and Malay community. My admission to AIMST was like liberation for me, as it gave me a wonderful chance to grow and become mature. Campus is a very safe place. AIMST is a training ground for me to learn how to communicate and mix with various students despite different backgrounds, religions and personalities.

Name: Sara Zafar Nationality: Pakistani Degree Programme: BSc (Hons) Finance and Management Enrolled: 2011-2015 My journey at AIMST University has been very interesting. There are many factors that brought me to AIMST, among them, the opportunity to study my course from a different perspective. Over the past three years, I have had the opportunity to mix with beautiful individuals from many different parts of the world. As an international student from Pakistan, I have valued the opportunity to study in such a rich and diverse environment. AIMST University gave me the opportunity to study a semester in Bordeaux, France. When I first came to AIMST, I was alone and scared to even talk to people, and now three years later, I have the confidence to not only make new friends but also to live alone and make it on my own for 4 months in a country like France. AIMST has given me the courage and strength to face the world. I am very grateful to AIMST University. I met a lot of inspiring people here. I love the lecturers and my friends. I love the AIMST family — it’s like a second home to me. I have had a wonderful experience here at AIMST, and I’ll carry that all with me for the rest of my life.

Name: Saidul Hassan Nationality: Bangladeshi Degree Programme: BSc (Hons) Biotechnology Enrolled: 2007-2009 For student those want to study abroad, it is always difficult to choose between foreign degrees and choose which country to get your degree from. Like other Bangladeshi students seeking a foreign degree, I also fascinated studying in the UK or Australia. But then again, financing my education in those countries, especially when you are willing to study science would have been a huge burden to my Dad. So after all, I figured that Malaysia would best fill my requirements and fit into my dad’s budget as well. I went to one local student advisory centre put forward my requirements. After listening to me, they suggested that AIMST University would be perfect choice. Since I did not complete my A ‘level, AIMST offered me University Foundation course leading to Science, passing which I have to choose among MBBS, BDS, Pharmacy, Engineering, IT, Materials Technology and Biotechnology degree programme. My father and I both decided that AIMST is going to be the launchpad for my career. AIMST University is one of the biggest private universities in Malaysia. With its state of the art 240 acre campus, wide range of world renowned faculties, multiple highly equipped research labs, excellent accommodation and of course, indoor and outdoor sports facilities, AIMST provides an ideal platform for students to prepare themselves in this highly competitive world. Faculties have been chosen from all around the world and I must admit that they are a true inspiration to the students. They are ever so helpful and always encourage the students to develop handsskills, which is very important once you start working. I don’t think I would have gotten a better array for faculties anywhere else. As I was also involved with the Student Council and several other clubs and societies, I had the honor to work with the Administration of AIMST University. I was so amazed to find out that the management as well as the entire Administration is so dedicated to the welfare of the students and as a result of it student get quality education. The academic calendar for every year is set in such a way that student will not only be studying and prepare for exams, but they also have series of sport and cultural events, like AIMST Merdeka Run, AIMST Amazing Race,

AIMST has not only given me a World-Class graduation, it has literally prepared me to become a leader. Name: Samiha Wasim Nationality: Indian Degree Programme: BSc (Hons) Business and Marketing Enrolled: 2011-2015 I had a great experience while studying in AIMST University. When I first came, I was in awe to see the infrastructure of the University. It looks amazing and also the environment is very conducive for the students. I was given a hostel room. The facilities are complete such as bed, wardrobe, and study table and so on. It is very comfortable and I did not face any difficulties in adapting in the hostel. I also had helpful room mates who were not hesitant at all to show the campus to me. I was exposed to the different cultures like the Malay culture and Chinese culture. There are many types of food in the cafeteria and I used to eat all types of food like Indian, Malay and Chinese. In short, I had a wonderful time while completing my degree programme at AIMST University.

I was being exposed to but I was wrong. From the first day of class, I was able to mix with a bunch of classmates. I was new in Malaysia, and I had a lot of questions in mind about this beautiful country. AIMST University offered me a chance to have a global exposure. The teaching quality is pretty impressive and the campus facilities even more. I have recently won a medal (2nd runner up) in the AFSAlimpic basketball competition, my first time to ever win a medal, the feeling was unexplainable. AIMST University has helped me to grow considerably as man but also as student with ambition, I have gained a lot of knowledge and theories and I look forward to keep on learning as much as possible. Name: Noorul Adilah Binti Aris Adi Tan Nationality: Malaysian Degree Programme: BDS Enrolled: 2012-2017

I have experienced many things at the AIMST University since I came here. I think that the biggest difference between our university in japan and AIMST University is the class system. In japan, many universities are doing passive class. On the other side, at the AIMST University, classes are of participatory in nature. The lecturers and students do have close association. Therefore, I can participate in the class aggressively.

I am studying at the AIMST University since 2011; did my Foundation in Science and managed to enrol in BDS to achieve my dream. When I stepped into AIMST University for the first time, I noticed that Malays are the minority and I took that as a challenge. Being half Malay and half Chinese, it wasn’t that difficult for me to mix around and communicate. I made really great friends here who are so dear to me. After almost 4 years of studying here, I have learnt a lot about life as well as improving self-qualities. I learnt how to respect other people and their beliefs, I’ve expanded my view of Malaysians’ norms from different angles and different races and I appreciate my country a little better. I have also become more independent, patient, confident, and comfortable in English communication. In brief, AIMST University gave me the exposure I needed to make me a better dentist in the future. Thank you AIMST!

Besides, students at AIMST University are serious in each event such as sports competition. Therefore, each event is always a fun. Furthermore, we can unite all the members. I participated in a sports competition and it became great memory for me. I think, AIMST University is a great place where we not only study but enjoy the student life also. Name: Abdulmoeen Abduljamil Abdulqadir Nationality: Afghanistan Degree Program: BSc (Hons) Finance and Management Enrolled: 2011 - 2015 Academic achievement, new community and territory had direct influence to change my perception, thoughts and behavior from different perspective toward students from three different unique communities in Malaysia. Nevertheless, processes and curiosity of learning something new never stop me for goal achievement but was challenging and fast throughout three years. I wouldn’t say AIMST University was horrible experience but from my point of view that’s how it should be, frankly speaking University life contributed to improve my soft skills and gave me confidence. Demonstrating abilities to overcome obstacles and challenges successfully which gave me hope that I can do it further beyond in a far better ways. Thank you AIMST!

I had come in contact with many lecturers in the AIMST University. I do like most of them. They mix freely with us. They treated us as their children. We had a good relation with them. They helped me in learning my lessons if I had any difficulty. Medicine is not easy as you think. You need a lot of patience and passion to survive in this field. However, my lecturers, family and friends are always there for me. In four words, ‘AIMST is the best!’

At the AIMST University, I needed to set goals and milestones. I have heard a lot of different things from a lot of different people. Right now I am starting to get the feel for the university experience, but I still have a lot ahead of me. I have finally realized that it does not matter what others think about AIMST University and the experience here. I will have to keep an open mind and develop my own thoughts about all of these things. University life had broadened my knowledge about many issues that I have not even thought about. I hope to be prepared for my future career in whatever line of work I may choose. My overall goal while attending AIMST University is to be prepared for the future while still having fun and learning about many different subjects. I expect to become very knowledgeable and well-rounded for the better future.

Name: Satvindar Singh Nationality: Malaysian Degree Programme: MBBS Enrolled: 2013 –2018 Three wonderful years have passed since I first time walked through the corridors of this university. Still fresh in my memory, the excitement and the little nervousness I felt, as I walked towards the Great Hall with my parents, to register myself as a new student in ‘Foundation in Science’ programme. After completing this programme, I got a wonderful opportunity to do MBBS. AIMST is really beautiful with amazing natural sceneries, a humid weather at most of the times, and equipped with various facilities. I feel AIMST is a perfect campus for students to acquire a high class education, synonym with the AIMST’s vision.

Name: Rashvin Singh Nationality: Malaysian Programme: Foundation in Science Enrolled: 2014-2015 I was not really keen to leave hometown for education purpose. Finally I decided to study at AIMST University for my ‘Foundation in Science’. My first few days were tough. I rarely left my room and preferred to be alone in my hostel room. I complained about almost everything - food, internet speed and other things. May be this was due to homesickness and lack of friends. During the second week of the academic session, I realised that it’s easy to complain about things and feel depressed. I decided to make efforts to adapt myself with the campus and make friends. After completing 6 months, I noticed that I am really in love with the AIMST campus and feel proud for my own transformation. So my fellow friends, I implore you to change your mind-set, look at all the beautiful things in life and realise your real aims and goals to achieve. In brief, I learned a lot in short time at AIMST. Thank you AIMST!
