CONGRATS! YOU’RE IN!

Become the person want to be.

Here, you’ll never be just a number. Our faculty and staff are committed to supporting you as you discover not only what you want to do—but who you want to be. The entire Drake experience is designed to help you find your place in the world while giving you the tools and knowledge needed to change the world.

ALL SIGNS POINT TO DRAKE

Smaller class sizes mean you’ll learn from professors who take a personal interest in your success—and learn with classmates who will become lifelong friends.

• Faculty mentoring can help you find your major and make the right moves throughout college to prepare for the real world.

• A close-knit campus community gives you a chance to get into anything you want—clubs, performance groups, activities, research—from day one.

• And yet Drake is big enough to flood your to-do list with everything from cheering on the Division I Bulldogs to serving in student government.

TAKE THE NEXT STEP

The last leg in your journey to full Bulldoghood is to enroll. Go to drake.edu/admitted and log in using the instructions in the acceptance letter that came with this booklet. You can enroll, sign up for a meal plan, and choose your housing preferences—all in one spot.

CAPITAL CITY CONNECTION:

Drake is woven into the heart of the thriving Des Moines metro. The city surprises with its diverse cultural, entertainment, and recreational opportunities, as well as abundant internship and job opportunities.

You won’t go hungry at Drake. All students living on campus are required to sign up for a meal plan. For off-campus students, it’s optional. Though, meals are also available for purchase on a one-off basis.

AWAY FROM

When choosing your plan in the Housing & Meal Selection portal, you’ll find options including a combination of prepaid, all-youcare-to-eat meals and Bulldog Bucks, which can be used to purchase food at various locations on campus.

Want to skip the meal plan and just have Bulldog Bucks? That’s fine too! Your Drake ID Card is a reloadable card for Bulldog Bucks and can be used to purchase food, coffee, and convenience items on campus as well as athletic concessions and printing (beyond the $20 allotment you’ll get from Drake).

For more information on meal plans, our newly renovated dining hall, and special dietary accommodations, visit drake.sodexomyway.com.

YOUR HOME

Housing. Students who have been out of high school for longer than two years can choose between oncampus and off-campus housing.

Off-campus housing options include apartments, rental homes, the newly acquired Campus Suites at Dogtown, and the Drake West Village, which has apartments available for juniors, seniors, and graduate students. See drake.edu/realestate for Drake-owned apartments, drakewestvillage.com for furnished apartments, or pick up a listing of additional rentals from local landlords in the Student Life Center in Olmsted.

If you want to select your roommate in on-campus housing, you must mutually request each other via the online portal. If you aren’t requesting a roommate, the Office of Student Life will match you based upon your answers to the lifestyle questions in your application. Placements are typically announced one month prior to the start of class.

Learn about your housing options, both on and off-campus at drake.edu/life/housing.
