Pre-Symposium Workshop January 20, 2011 Implant Complications Management Dr Leon Chen
Course Highlights 13 common complications and how to prevent or repair them. · What to do if the implant is crooked. · What to do if the implant is loose. · What to do if the implant has exposed threads. · What to do if the implant is too close to another implant. · What to do if the implant is too close to a nerve. · What to do if the implant has perforated the lingual plate. · What to do if the implant has dropped into the sinus cavity. · What to do if the implant has dropped into the nasal cavity. · What to do if the oral sinus is opened · What to do if sinus membrane is perforated. · What to do if the sinus becomes infected. · What to do if another doctor has announced the case is hopeless. · What to do if the implant is fully integrated, but the patient is still in pain. Many courses will talk about prevention of some of these problems, but no other course focuses on how to repair them. Dr. Chen has the experience to teach you how to take a complication and make it a success.
Course Objectives After completing this course the clinician should be able to treat and manage various types of surgical, prosthetic, and peri-implantitis implant failures. The clinician should be able to recognize potential pitfalls of a particular case at the treatment planning stage to avoid potential complications. When complications arise, he or she will be able to determine the best solution to solve that problem either by repair, and/or by implant removal and re-implantation. This course also gives the clinician the ability to manage soft tissue around the implant to correct implant esthetic failures.
Post-Symposium Workshop January 23, 2011 Hydraulic Sinus Condensing Technique 速 Dr Leon Chen
Course Highlights HYDRAULIC SINUS CONDENSING TECHNIQUE速 (HSC) is today's premier technique for sinus augmentation. Less invasive than prior sinus augmentation techniques, HSC utilizes water pressure to prevent membrane perforation, with condensers to gently build up the sinus floor. This course will show you how to perform HSC in any situation, including cases with severely atrophic maxilla, septum presence and severely sloping sinus floors. You will also learn HSC with immediate implant placement and platform switching for initial stabilization. Never before has Sinus Condensing been so easy to perform and so easy on your patients. This course will open your eyes to the future of maxillary implant dentistry.
Course Objectives This course is intended for those who would like to be able to place dental implants under the maxillary sinus. Various methods of sinus augmentations are discussed. However, this course will focus primarily on the Hydraulic Sinus Condensing technique developed by the lecturer. This technique is taught step by step with the armamentarium required for the procedure. Possible membrane perforation management is discussed as well as other possible complications and how to manage the potential complications. The dentist will be able to tackle cases involving only 1mm of native bone under the maxillary sinus with ease and be able to place implants simultaneously. Immediate extraction and implant cases involving sinus augmentations are also discussed.
