HVAC/AIR FLOW/VENTILATION & PLEXIGLASS BARRIERS

Moving our programs to an online format reduces a key touchpoint, and is also part of our effort to reduce our carbon footprint, as paper production, distribution, use and disposal require considerable energy and raw materials. Thank you for supporting this greening initiative!

Enhanced cleaning measures have been put into place before, during, and after every performance including increased cleaning of high-touch surfaces. We also ask that you use the hand sanitizer provided as you enter the theatre. Sanitizer can also be found at designated points throughout each venue.

KEEPING YOUR THEATRES SAFE

As you plan your trips to the theatre, know that our number one priority is ensuring that you feel safe, comfortable, and confident with your decision to enjoy live theatre again. Our Duty of Care adheres to local and provincial health guidelines and is subject to change in response to current conditions throughout the season. We have been awarded the World Travel and Tourism Council/Tourism Industry Association of Ontario Safe Travels stamp for adopting proper, standardized health and hygiene protocols. This stamp is globally recognized as an indicator that enhanced COVID mitigation protocols are in place.

The Government of Ontario has lifted restrictions for theatres, allowing for 100% capacity. However, we have surveyed our patrons a number of times over the last two years, and you've made it clear to us that you have different degrees of comfort.

CLEANING & SANITIZATION

Our theatres are equipped with state-of-the-art mechanical ventilation systems that exchange the air in our public spaces every 15 minutes. Plexiglass barriers have been installed at our bars as well as our Box Offices.

Our artists, artisans, staff, and volunteers are fully vaccinated. Additional rules and protocols are in place to keep people safe in their work environment. We encourage everyone to continue to wear masks. Please visit us online at www.draytonentertainment.com to view our complete Duty of Care.

This is also a very special year for the Huron Country Playhouse as we celebrate 50 years of theatre in Grand Bend.

Commemorating the longevity of this iconic summer theatre means that much more after all we’ve been through over the last few years, so make a special trip to Grand Bend – hit the beach, visit local restaurants, play a round of golf, stay over at one of the many first-rate area accommodations, and of course, see a show or two to mark this momentous anniversary.

These last two years have been challenging, but they’ve also given us time to develop an exciting project – The Drayton Entertainment Youth Academy. We have seen firsthand the impact we have on the lives of young people through arts education.

Our doors are open, the stage lights are on, and we’re thrilled to finally welcome you back to all our venues across the province. Be a tourist close to home, and rediscover LIVE theatre at the Drayton Festival Theatre in Drayton, Hamilton Family Theatre in Cambridge, Huron Country Playhouse in Grand Bend, King's Wharf Theatre in Penetanguishene, and St. Jacobs Country Playhouse and the Schoolhouse Theatre in St. Jacobs.

The world has changed significantly over the past few years, and we must change with it by supporting a broader generational shift in our society. We will accomplish this by providing training opportunities to youth in the Drayton Entertainment brand of performing arts excellence. Jump to page 37 for more information about our new Youth Academy.

We cannot thank you enough for your unwavering support. Although we continue to navigate this ongoing pandemic, we’re hopeful about the future. We know you love LIVE theatre as much as we do, so please join us in making wonderful memories this season. Years from now we’ll all talk about where we were, and what shows we saw, the year that theatre came back. Flip the page to discover what’s on stage this season and start planning your return. See you at the theatre!

Our seven stages will be alive with memorable music, entertaining stories, joyful laughter, heartfelt applause, and maybe even a few tears as we celebrate the long-awaited chance to be together again sharing the magic of LIVE theatre. This season will look a little different with perhaps one or two fewer shows as we cautiously resume operations, but the top-quality entertainment experience and customer service you’ve come to expect remain the same.

A Heartwarming Comedy

Five Southern women who met years ago on their college swim team set aside a long weekend every summer to reminisce and reconnect. Free from husbands, kids, and jobs, they meet at the same beach cottage on North Carolina's Outer Banks to catch up, laugh, and meddle in each other's lives. Over the years, the five feisty ladies increasingly rely on one another, through advice and boisterous banter, to get through the challenges that life flings at them – including men, sex, marriage, parenting, divorce, and aging –with some hilarious and unexpected twists and turns. Part Steel Magnolias, part Designing Women ... with just a hint of Golden Girls, southern-fried humour abounds in this rollicking comedy about the enduring power of friendship.
