Franklin Square DREAM Monthly Snapshot September 2012 Program Happenings and Highlights • Franklin Square is off to another great semester with co-chairs Shannon Moore, Maeve Lawlor, Elizabeth Watts, and Molly Spillane. • The program successfully recruited 14 new mentors and 3 new kids. • Five St. Mike’s mentors joined other mentors from around the state and the DREAM office for DREAMstock, DREAM’s annual mentor training event. • The Franklin Square DREAM program welcomed Nicole Stevenson, a former Birchwood mentor and office staffer, as their program partner for the semester. Franklin Square DREAM kicked off the semester with a first Friday in the community. Mentors got re-acquainted with the kids and re-introduced to their community. New prospective mentors joined current mentors and mentees for a Friday of Tie-Dye near the town houses and basketball in the St. Mike’s Gym. Mentors and kids went apple picking at Allenholm Farm in South Hero Franklin Square mentors and mentees celebrated a group birthday party! Mentees made their own pizzas and of course there was Birthday Cake and Balloons.
