Orchard Gardens DREAM Monthly Snapshot February 2015 Program Happenings and Highlights • • All of the mentors participated in the Annual Boston DREAMstock. The co-chairs and the recruitment chair led workshops at the event about how they go about their programming for the mentees and meeting facilitation. • The mentors sent in an Alumni Grant to DREAM to put on a BBQ for their mentees, mentors, as well as the Northeastern mentors who the mentees will be transferred to. The BBQ will be hosted at the Orchard Gardens Community on May 2nd.

February 7th – the BU mentors put on a bake sale at the University to raise money for their programming need. The mentees took part in helping to sell the delicious goodies and also made signage to help market the bake sale. This is the first time that the Orchard Garden mentees met with the NU students. The mentees felt comfortable talking with the NU students and sitting next to them on the bus ride to BU. This is important part of the transition: making sure the mentees have some sort of bond with their new mentors. February 14th Mentees got a chance to learn about recycling with the BU

Environmental Club. The mentees then took the knowledge they received and sorted out different types of items into recycling bins/non recycling bins. February 21st- Mentors Participated in DREAMstock while mentees were on Spring Break February 28th- Mentees and BU mentors, along with 4 NU students, enjoyed themselves while watching a BU basketball game
