The average week will be a combinaNon of theory, dem‐ onstraNon, private lessons, and playing with your horse together under Karen’s su‐ pervision or on your own. With only 5 par4cipants, there will be much private aSenNon. Karen may be riding her own horses with you, or using them to demonstrate. Some days Karen will be on the ground 100% focused on the students. At all Nmes Karen will be treaNng parNcipants as her own personal students/horses in training. The goal is to make real pro‐ gress.

Horses will be boarded at Temenos Fields for the dura‐ Non. They will be in 12’ x 24’ board and priefert panel pens, with opportunity for private or shared turnout. All feeding will be done by Temenos Fields staff. Horses will be fed on the Temenos Fields feed program. Special supplements or grains must be pre‐arranged and sup‐ plied. Cleaning of pens and turnout spaces will be the responsibility of parNcipants. We will help you find local housing rentals and we can assist if you would like to share a house with a fellow parNcipant. No RV hookups at Temenos Fields. There is an RV grounds within 10 miles of Temenos Fields.

During the 10 weeks, there may be special events. For example, Karen will be teach‐ ing two 6‐Day Clinics. During those weeks, parNcipants will be independent with their horses and will be invited to audit the clinic. (These clinics are normally closed to out‐ side auditors).

ParNcipants will bring their own horses. In the case that a parNcipant cannot, Karen can arrange a horse for them. Since the goal will be pro‐ gress for the horse, Karen will do her best to find a horse that is appropriate for the rider, and who is owned by someone who sees this as During and/or a]er the 6 Day an opportunity for the horse. clinics there will be Q & A The goal is to have a win‐win regarding teaching strategies situaNon: Ideally the parNci‐ used in the clinics. pant will not be paying a Guest professionals may come in to give presenta‐ Nons. Twice during the 10 weeks, there will be an Auditor Day/ The first session we will in‐ vite auditors to listen to the assessment of the horses and our iniNal training plan. The second session will be at the end of the 10 weeks. ParNcipants will present how the process worked. The goal is not to perform and show‐off fast miracles, but to demonstrate possible results of a methodical, sus‐ tainable development pro‐ gram. There will be no outside auditors during normal course days. ParNcipants can purchase auditor passes at a dis‐ counted rate to pass along to friends, students.

Ques4ons? When you register you will receive more details, but for now here are some answers to anNcipated quesNons to help you decide if you can do this course.

How do I know if I am qualified Can I bring friends or students to a3end? to observe? Priority will be given to students with ad‐ vanced foundaNon skills. Professionals (Parelli or non) will be given first priority. If you are not sure, please apply! If you can get a rec‐ ommendaNon from a professional that would be best.

Can I bring extra horses? No. Space is limited, and so is our Nme to‐ gether. I did design the schedule so you will have Nme to take care of any other horses off‐site. Your Nme at the Temenos will be fo‐ cused, so if you are done with your horse, you will be keeping your energy on the group; maximizing your opportunity to learn from fellow students. When the group’s hours are over, the facility will be closed. If you need assistance finding local accom‐ modaNons for extra horses you are traveling with we can help.

What kind of accommoda>ons can I find? There are many rental homes available in the area. I have a contact that can offer rooms in houses for around $200/week. If the group would like to share a house together, I may be able to get even a beSer rate. RV park has monthly rates of approx. $450/month 4

What if I am a western rider?

No problem! Healthy biomechanics applies to all disciplines. I can’t promise we won’t get No. Since this is meant to be a focused, pro‐ fessional environment, the fewer distracNons you to try an english saddle to see the bene‐ fits of that parNcular tool, but our goal will be the beSer. If you worked in a bank you wouldn’t bring your friends along! But don’t to help you and your horse be the best you get the wrong idea... The goal will be to have can be by improving biomechanics. a fun, healthy, happy environment!

Why so much free >me? What will I do? Life is all about balance. There will be plenty of Nme to accomplish our daily goals with the horses. There will be research, study and/or exercises that I will give you to do as ‘home‐ work’. In the Nme away from the Temenos you will have a chance to study, exercise, see local horse acNviNes, teach your own students, play with your other horses, kayak on a river, go to the beach, or just relax. Then show up fresh for our next session! We simply have a responsibility to our horses to be balanced, happy, calm, inspired hu‐ mans!

Will I be a Cer>fied Dressage, Naturally teacher by the end of this course? No. I do not have an official cerNficaNon pro‐ gram at this Nme. However, part of my goal for this course is to give parNcipants more knowledge and skills so I can create people I could refer students to, or who can beSer support and/or prepare my students around the world. You will be able to list this course as part of your conNnuing educaNon.
