Petra, Jordan: The details atop the Treasury Building prove that the Lost City of Petra has withstood the relentless tests of time, weather, and mankind after hundreds of years.
Petra, Jordan: Transportation is easy to come by, and an easy way to support the local Bedouin people. Families or single persons who are unable to walk, or uncomfortable riding a donkey, horse, or camel can elect to take a relaxing, scenic route in a carriage through the whole park.
Jerash, Jordan: Fine in composition and detail, Jerash is home to many carefully constructed columns that stretch out abundantly through the ancient city, towering in size and berth across cobblestone paths. Observing the detail while listening to the call to prayer in the distance is an otherworldly feeling.
Madaba, Jordan: Bursting in effervescent color, the spirit of the sacred land is alive and well as shown through the artwork designed and handmade by the talented artists located near Moses’ burial place.
Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: Al Dhafra Camel Beauty Pageant contestants. A rare sight, a young boy marvels at the beauty of one of the finalists in the pageant instead of staring at the thousands of brand new cards for winners lined up all along the sides of the arena. Later the camels will proceed in a caravan that will block and slow traffic for miles and miles in the desert.
Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: 20 feet high, “Chairs for Abu Dhabi” by Tadashi Kawamata allows visitors to sit inside on a couch that let’s them speculate the 1000 chairs in the rotunda-shaped exhibit. Located in Manirat al Saadiyat near Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi Art encourages international art exhibits to promote social inclusivity and continuation of interest in cultural awareness and education.
