Vehicle sanitisation involves disinfection on the outside and inside of the vehicle, including door handles, boot handle, steering wheel, centre console, dashboard, seatbelts, seats, meters, payment equipment, and other areas where there may be potential exposure to the virus.

The first trial site commenced on Thursday 16th April, 2020, located at the 13Cabs site at Alexandria. The NSW Taxi Council is working with the Sanitisation Program Project Team in exploring additional sites, including Western Suburbs as well as Regional NSW. does not replace the primary duty of care of all service providers to ensure the health and safety of passengers, drivers and other persons so far as is reasonably practicable. This means that additional vehicle cleaning may be required outside the use of the sanitisation station.

The sanitisation station program delivers a positive message to the public that Taxis are a safe option to travel in, and the cleaning practices will instill confidence with the public as well as drivers and operators.
