What is Adrenal Fatigue Adrenal fatigue or adrenal fatigue syndrome or hypoadrenia is simply the exhaustion of the adrenal glands meaning they are unable to keep up with their essential functions in the human body. The adrenal glands produce several hormones that are important for the production and control of the thyroid hormones and the sex hormones. Also, they produce the hormones help us in dealing with stress, food metabolism and regulate blood sugar regulation. So if they fail, you can imagine how stressed up one can be. Anyway, adrenal fatigue occurs when the demand on the adrenal system is far greater than what they can deliver, this means that nothing gets the attention it deserves and so the body starts going on a downward spiral.

Causes of Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome Adrenal Fatigue is a stress-related condition and this means that one should monitor their stress levels always for good healthy living especially mental, emotional and spiritual stress and prevents a build-up. Also, high chemical toxin levels and nutritional deficiencies are among the physical causes since when carbohydrates become too much in the diet and protein levels are low they tend to create stress in the adrenals. Inadequate and poor quality of drinking water taken affects proper oxygenation of the organ tissues.

Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome Symptoms As soon as the one experiences adrenal fatigue the body starts to react in several ways to alert one that there is a problem that needs to be fixed somewhere. The most common signs of adrenal failure may

include the following: Depression and anxiety as one becomes disinterested in friends and family. Lack of energy caused by low blood sugar levels. Inability to handle stress as one becomes irritated very easily. Muscle weakness coupled with joint and muscle pains. Increased allergies resulting from the hormone Cortisol being produced in low levels by the adrenal gland. Lightheadedness and feeling tired most of the time decreased sex drive due the inadequate production of the sex hormones One becomes compulsive by being overly excited, exercising too much in an attempt to stimulate the adrenal glands back into action. One may experience low blood pressure (hypotension), low body temperature as the level of toxins increase in the body. Some people might add a layer of fat; this is due to poor food metabolism. Unusual food cravings for proteins, salt, and sweets. One may become sensitive to bright light.insomnia and trouble going to sleep.

Treatment of Adrenal Fatigue Treatment Basically, proper diagnosis by a doctor of adrenal fatigue is very crucial. Since most patients become misdiagnosed and treated for something else such as the Addison’s disease that happens if the adrenal glands do not produce enough Cortisol or the Cushing’s syndrome caused by excessive cortical production by adrenal glands. If you suspect to having symptoms as above, one can try any of these methods to try and restore your adrenal activity back to normal before taking a trip to the doctor’s office. Laughing, as they say, is the best medicine, in this case, it helps bring down the stress levels that have been accumulating in the body. Another way of bringing your stress levels is by sleeping as much as you can as this relaxes the adrenal gland thus facilitating its quick recovery. Exercising strengthens the muscles and reduces the levels of toxins in the blood. Eating regular meals will build your muscles and give you the energy to be energetic and happy. Chewing your food well will facilitate proper digestion of food in order for it to be converted to energy. Doing something fun each day will take your mind off stressful events in your life. Avoiding junk food by any means as this will go a long way in reducing your toxin levels. Eating vegetables and fruits to boost your vitamin intake in the body. Taking calcium and magnesium supplements and adding sea salt to your diet will restore the minerals lost. Finally, and by all means, minimize stress at all costs, life is too short to be stressed out anyway and you can start by removing negative people from your life as they will bring you down to their low energy levels. Wishing you a quick recovery.
