A University is Born


Key Dates

 January-April 2010  University idea was envisioned by Rev. Henoc Lucien  Monsieur Telfort Paul, Maire Principal de la Commune Milot

endorses the University.  Senator Jean Charles Moise supports government land for a university campus  Key Haitian leaders in Cap Haitian met to discuss the needs for a university

 May 2010  Universitie’ Internationale en Haiti (UIH) was born, UIH Steering

Committee was formed by Haitian/American leaders in business, education, government and ministry


Key Dates  July 2010  Haitian government donated 25 acres in Milot (CapHaitien), Haiti for UIH  Border surrounding donated land’s perimeter is surveyed  September 2010  Engineering Ministries International (eMi) is recruited to develop master plan for UIH  October 2010  UIH Steering Committee & eMi meet in Haiti to program and develop master plan and design for phase 1 buildings


UIH Mission  The Université Internationale en Haïti exists to improve the social and spiritual directions of Haiti by building generations of leaders that will promote the development of Haiti and engage the culture with the gospel of Jesus Christ. This will be accomplished through:  The practice of academic excellence and life long learning  The development of Christian integrity and a biblically informed

worldview  The creation of sustainable enterprises that will improve the quality of life and dignity of the people  The engagement of contemporary culture  The connection with the evangelical churches of Haiti

UIH Student Faculty Requirements  Students from all faith backgrounds, including nonbelievers are welcome to enroll at UIH.  Core Faculty: Part time or full time, expected to be long-term members of the UIH community. They agree fully to the vision and values of UIH  Adjunct/Visiting Faculty: May or may not be associated with UIH on a long-term basis. May include: foreign volunteers who teach for a semester or year at a time. They must agree not to contravene the vision and values of UIH in their work with the university, they are not required to personally embrace the entire vision and values of UIH
