These are cosmetic dental procedures that allow the dentist to dramatically change the length, width, color and shape of your teeth. The Process Once you and your dentist determine the style of smile you desire, an impression of your teeth will be taken in the office. The impression is then sent to a laboratory with precise instructions of what your smile should look like. The lab creates a model of your future smile, showing how your repaired teeth will look. Once the model is approved, the dentist prepares your teeth, takes a new impression, and fits you with temporaries (a temporary version of your new smile). When the permanent restorations are ready after approximately three to four weeks, your temporaries will be removed, and your made-over smile will be put in place.
