CORPORATE SPONSORS
The 40th Annual Droughtmaster Female Sale was a huge success, attracting a large crowd for the quality of females on offer. It was great to also see a big contingent of buyers, sellers and supporters attend the BBQ and drinks which took place at the saleyards the night beforehand. Congratulations must go to the Gympie Female Sale Committee, led by Brian Heck and all volunteers who had a large involvement in the success of this sale. Special thanks to all the vendors for the preparation in presenting a good line up of females and special congratulations to Paul & Paula Russell of Locarno Droughtmasters on the top priced lot, Locarno Piper for $29,000 which set a new sale record. Thanks must also go to all of the agents and buyers who attended the sale, it was fantastic to see some new faces and breeders who attended the sale. Finally, thanks to our many sponsors and partners who contributed to this sale, we are extremely grateful for all your support. We hope that you find the information useful contained within this Sale Report and look forward to seeing you all again next year.
SIMON GLEESON Chief Executive Officer Droughtmaster Australia
A DAY OF CELEBRATION LIFE MEMBERSHIP PRESENTATION On Saturday 13 March, just prior to the start of the 40th anniversary Droughtmaster National Female Sale in Gympie, former Society CEO, Neil Donaldson, was honoured with Life Membership of the Droughtmaster Stud Breeders’ Society. The award was presented to Neil by former Society President Rob Atkinson and current President Todd Heyman. Neil Donaldson was DSBS National Operations Manager/ CEO for almost 22 years. For some of that time Neil also assumed the role of Company Secretary. During that period, Neil’s name was synonymous with the name “Droughtmaster”. Neil was highly respected by other breed societies, livestock agents, various members of the media, the membership and his staff. Although Neil was never a stud breeder himself, he valued the importance of the breed as a whole and dedicated half of his working life to its betterment.
