The 42nd Annual National Female Sale held at Gympie Saleyards on the 11th March was the largest experienced in terms of numbers sold for the past 5 years. The sale was well supported by long term vendors however this year also witnessed the introduction of several new vendors.
The quality of females on offer was really highlighted by the fact that 5 of the top-priced females were recorded in the top 10 highest priced females of all time from this sale. One of these females came from a vendor who had the final draft of the sale which demonstrated the strength and demand for Droughtmaster females.
The were a number of volume buyers who supported the sale with Dalmally grazing purchasing 12, Bridon Investments purchasing 12 and the Jardine Family purchasing 5.
Congratulations must go to all vendors who offered females and in particular the Geddes Family from Oasis Droughtmasters who offered Lot 83, Oasis A Miss Icon A, who sold for a new sale record of $37,000. This heifer was purchased online by Troy Mitchell NSW via Elite Livestock Auctions.
This sale continues to gain momentum each year and we look forward to another quality offering in 2024.
