And, the Miracle Continues
BY THE HONORABLE JAMES G. MCGIFFIN, JR.
During the first full week of December 2021, Kris Kringle will participate in a series of competency hearings in the Superior Court throughout the State. For 17 years, the Miracle Team has been recreating the courtroom scene from Miracle on 34th Street for thousands of school children. This year it will once again look a little different as it will all be done with the magic of Zoom. Chief Judge Michael K. Newell and Resident Judge William L. Witham, Jr. will share in the role of presiding Judge, keeping order for the rest of the Miracle Team. This is a rare opportunity for third, fourth, and fifth graders throughout the State to experience the real courtroom in a very positive way. More than 18,000 children have participated in the hearings. We thought we would share with you a few of their comments from years past.
