We have a range of plans depending on how quickly you want to lose weight, all leading to personalised Management plans with will help you achieve a healthy and balanced way of eating for life with healthy recipes and ongoing group support.

The first rehearsal for the new term is Tuesday 06 September 2022 The repertoire for our Christmas Concert, which is to be held at St John the Baptist and All Saints Church, Easingwold is Saturday 3rd December 2022 at 3pm when we will be singing: “12 Days of Christmas” – Bob Chilcott A contemporary and exciting version of the popular carol and we feel you will never view the “Five Gold Rings” refrain in the same manner ever again, in a good way “Fantasia on Christmas Carols” –Ralph Vaughan Williams Fantasia is based upon traditional English carols from various counties whilst incorporating fragments from other well-known carols Plus a varied selection of carols, for both choir and audience participation. Our choir has experienced changes over the past few years and quite a few of our members have moved away to be nearer family or for other reasons, thus we are a bit depleted in respect of tenors in particular. We are a very friendly and welcoming group of people, and we would love to recruit new members (soprano, alto, tenor and bass) to boost our numbers. Indeed, we are fortunate that some of our altos have been able to move over to support our tenors but there is nothing quite like the richness of tone and resonance of a full equally matched four-part choir. If you can read music, that is a bonus. However, if not there is always somebody who will help you pick things up; many of our members don’t read music but having sung with the choir on a couple of occasions, are surprised that they are so competent over a short period of time. We are an inclusive non-audition community choir; if you are interested, or know anybody who just loves to sing beautiful music, please come along for a no obligation taster, and see if you like the atmosphere and what we do. A friendly welcome awaits you equally matched by our Musical Director’s multi-faceted warm-ups which always get the evening off to a jolly start. Moving forward, in 2023 the choir celebrates it’s 120th anniversary. Quite an achievement! The programme and details in respect of our May 2023 concert have not been finalised but details will follow in due course on our website, www.easingwold-singers. com, Facebook and in the press. Plenty to look forward to and thanks for your support which is always appreciated.

After a summer of heatwaves many of us, including our pets, will be enjoying the cooler days of Autumn and crisp blue skies. However, for pets there are a few things to watch out for. Dog owners should be vigilant around conkers and acorns which can poison dogs if eaten. Some owners may throw conkers for pets to catch without realising the activity is potentially fatal. Dogs can easily swallow conkers which can become lodged in their throat or intestines and dogs with blockages, or suspected blockages, could need surgery to remove them. Dogs may also chew and eat conkers and acorns causing vomiting and diarrhoea. Signs of poisoning include: Vomiting Diarrhoea lethargy Restlessness with discomfort and pain Loss of Symptomsappetiteofillness usually show between one and six hours after ingestion but can be delayed for up to two days. Autumn Festivities and pets Strangers in scary costumes at the door on Hallowe’en can be very stressful for our pets. If gifting trick or treaters keep pets in another room and make sure they pets are microchipped (which is compulsory by law for dogs) just in case they bolt. If they want to go and hide, let them and don’t disturb them if they want to be left alone. Soon afterwards comes Fireworks night. Many pets are very frightened by the flashes and bangs of fireworks. While some pets don’t appear to mind many are terrified. If your pet is afraid it is a good idea to make sure there are safe hiding places for them – under the bed or behind the sofa for example. Walk dogs earlier in the day and keep windows and doors tightly closed to avoid pets bolting in fear.
