Campus@Northallerton (C@N) is an exciting new partnership between Hambleton District Council, the University of Sunderland and York College, who have come together to offer education and training courses based in Northallerton.

The campus opened in January 2022 and forms part of a larger development to transform a former prison site into a retail, business, and leisure complex in the heart of Northallerton town centre.

A unique partnership

The University of Sunderland and York College were invited into North Yorkshire to enhance the skills and training offer within the North Yorkshire region. We will offer employers and individuals the opportunity to develop new skills through a range of education routes to facilitate personal and business growth at Campus @ Northallerton. So far, we have run a range of taster sessions to showcase our course offering, we have connected with local networks including schools, local authorities, the Local Enterprise Partnerships and other key stakeholders and we are keen to develop further connections and ensure we are addressing local and regional skill shortages and training needs.

About the University of Sunderland

The Guardian University Guide 2023 places the University at number 50 in the country - our highest position in 10 years - with a rise of 42 places compared to last year. The move comes on the back of a successful few years for the University which saw it nominated as the University of the Year in the Times Higher Education Awards in 2021, as well as being named University of the Year for social inclusion in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2021.

Sir David Bell, Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive of the University of Sunderland, said: “University ‘league tables’ are only one measure of the work done at the University of Sunderland. “However, such a dramatic rise in the Guardian University Guide is a notable moment for us. So, as always, I pay tribute to students and staff for all their hard work which we see, and celebrate, day in and day out.” The University was ranked 92 last year in the table, up from 100th position the year before.

York College & University Centre

York College & University Centre offers a wide range of further and higher education courses, as well as A Levels, T levels, GCSEs and apprenticeships.

Outstanding by Ofsted, the College welcomes students aged 16-and-over

from across York and North Yorkshire. The College is in the fop-five Yorkshire educational institutions with students progressing to Oxford or Cambridge.

Upcoming Courses

The University of Sunderland are offering a wide range of business, leadership, digital and health courses at C@N, please contact us for further details.
