Universial pavilion 3D Algorithm Study / Individual work / 2018

Currently, elevators or lifts are insta lled in an effort to lower the barrier between wheelchair users and the non-users. However, this method always separates the disabled from the living radius of the non-disabled. Although we are familiar with the sce ne where someone pushes a wheelchair or a wheelchair user wa lks alone, the scene of wheelchairs going side by side is rarely found in the city where we live in. As such, wheelchairs are regarded as a flat surface of the side. The project's theme is Pavilion wh ich can go side by side in a wheelc hair. The plan was intended to help people with disabilities blend natur ally without isolation from the nondisabled. 4

I wanted to make a structure consis ting of horizontal ramps, not vertical ones, such as elevators. Multiple paths, not a single route, cr eates various contact points people can meet each other. The structure was designed with a maximum angle of 6 degrees or less for wheelchair access. By constructi ng shape algorithm, it was flexible to change the shape slightly.

While moving on the pavilion, people can contact even they are in different track because of the similarity of high. It allow s people to have more chance to gather. Not only wheelchairs but also bike or strollers can easily get an access to it.

Gongdoek in Alternative Graduation Exhibition / Individual work / 2019

After Gyeongui line was moved to underground, the closed railway site has changed to be a beloved linear park. In front of exit1 of Gongdeok sta tion near the park, public land2,920㎡-is located where people can visit market and participate in small urban agriculture under local manag ement, which is quite unusual in the middle of the city. However, Korea Rail Network Auth ority is planning to develop this area for shopping facilities, hotel, or a par king structure after making a contr act with a private firm. The corporati on has been absent from detailed pla ns for more than seven years, only expressing the same words to vacate the land for development. Cities are our lives. I support a direc tion to open this place to be used by citizens rather than to isolate here for private usage. 10

Gongdeok is a popular transportation hub of 5 subway lines and recently regarded as a center of Mapo-gu. Also, Gyeongui linear park helps people relax. Nevertheless, it is rarely found in Korea where people can do more diverse program in a free atmosphe re. I took a step forward to different from regular park by suggesting this model called 'Gongdoek in Alternati v e ' , w h i c h i s a f f o r d a b l e l a r g e spectrum of generation in a flexible way.

Cooperative project / Team work / 2017

When I took semester abroad in AMD, I conducted an exchange proj ect with MAA, a Dutch architecture university. It is a project where MAA students become clients and AMD students become designers and interact each other. The assignment from our clients MAA students - was to bring people and Maas together in a location call ed Griendpark, and make the water ‘touchable’ in a literally and figura tively way. They wanted us to desi gn a place where people can feel the water, learn its history and be aware of its existence. At the same time, they expected the result to be a fun and comfortable place.

The water is drawn from Maas ri ver, which gives people oppertunity to feel the Maas closely. The sp ace was divided by vertically falling water along the curved pipe. Also, Griendpark can be activated at nig ht by lights reflecting on the water, which makes the place safer. 20

Jeju music hall Renovation project / Team work / 2019

It is a music and cultural space for Jeju residents and tourists located on the 8th course of Olle Roads, Se ogwipo, Jeju Island. If there is a cul tural space in the ocean view, touris ts and existing residents will be able to feel nature but also enjoy music in abundance. The Music Hall resembles Dol-dam, a traditional stone wall of Jeju. It was intended to attract attention by placing a Jeju stone-like mass on top of an existing white building. It allows audiences to enjoy the sea with the performance, and the view of Mt. Halla through the window in the lobby while waiting for the perfo rmance.

Cooperative Exhibition / Team work / 2017

My team designed the accommodat ion in the school exhibition, which is held every winter vacation. We did Max V-ray-based rendering after a few weeks of studying the program. The keyword for the work was HUMAN. Therefore, it was reminisc ent of a craftsman with strong auras as human being. Based on the cra ftsmanship, craftsmen spend most of their lives honing their skills alone and persevering. It is called 'Sooryeon' in Korean. We intended to melt the life of a craftsman into the accommodation design so that people can feel the craftsmanship.

The dark long hallway that runs alo ng the corner means the life of a craftsman who goes only one way without knowing the way ahead. Wood that is piled up is a metaphor of endurance in craftsman's life.

Behind the outstanding works are the traces of unseen hard work. This is represented as a space of darkness and brightness.

Brand Space Study / Individaul work / 2018

Coway is a company that provid es not only water purifiers but also entire household appliances such as Water conditioners, bidet and air purifiers through rental services. Coway is the first in the industry to lend expensive products for a small amount of money so that many peo ple can drink clean water. However, more and more compani es are offering home appliance rent al services. Therefore, there needs to be something differentiated that will keep consumers aware that Co way is the representative company responsible for the clean home env ironment. Coway pool is suggessted for that solution.

Service. Coway's service provides clean water and air. This is closely related to human health, and Cowa y’s brand value is in protecting peo ple’s health, by offering clean water and air.

36

What if Coway offers a swimming experience in a pool with clean and safe water?

Target. The first target is a pregna nt women who are concerned ab out the water quality of the pool. The second target is a family that wants to swim with a child. Not as a competition-oriented swimming pool, a pool is needed that people can enjoy comfortably as a family unit.

Study with Tile Samples

This pool was designed with the flow of human traffic in mind, and the PEBBLE is chosen to be the ba sic prototype of structure. Because the relaxed, round feeling of being with family reminded me of pebbles. I also took a study of materials, by collecting appropriate tile that will be used.

architectural drawings Drawings / Individual work / 2017-

When I went to Europe as an excha nge student, I took a train and went to nearby villages or other countries to do architectural sketches. The pr ocess of drawing under the sun, wi th cold winds, or with drizzling rain, was thrilling. Communication with objects that I felt when I actually encountered and captured buildings that I saw in pic tures is a valuable experience. Pen and watercolors were mainly used. This experience has become a hab it now, which makes me used to drawing buildings or interiors.
