The Waxhaw Community Volunteer Fire Department & Rescue Squad is a volunteer organization that functions because of the people who volunteer their time to provide fire protection and emergency medical first response. This department has proudly served the community since 1954 and was one of the first volunteer departments in Union County. They strive to protect lifeand property by providing the highest level of service to the community.

The Town of Waxhaw Fire Marshal provides fire prevention inspections, fire permits, construction related fire inspections, fire plans review, and other fire code enforcement related activities to all public occupancies within Waxhaw town limits. The Fire Marshal utilizes the current edition of the North Carolina Fire Prevention Code and all other applicable codes and standards in conjunction with Waxhaw town ordinances.
