Designated Storm-water Retention Area

Sewage & Storm Water

Designated Constructed Wetland Area

Precipitation is not constant during the year in Juliaca. But, during rain season the city has problems containing storm water which results in flooding. There designated areas that collects the storm water, which prevents flooding on campus, and then used for irrigation on the agriculture fields. Sewage will be managed on-site with the use of constructed wetlands. This sets a precedent for the rest of the city which only 30% have access to sewage lines.

Controlled Semi-Public Private Educational Area

Privacy & Security

Private Residential Area

Security from strangers and land squatters are the main concerns for this new campus. Therefore, the new campus will be organized into three tiers of security. During the day, the public will have access to “Controlled Semi-Public Area but access will be limited for the rest of site, unless you are a 8

student, family, or resident.

not sit in the canal for long. It will be used for irrigating the agriculture fields.

Outdoor seating

Rain is expected for only a few weeks of the year. The majority of the time, the canal will be dry. Therefore, it becomes a social place for lunch or leisure. Site design in collaboration with Harrison Moxey. Rendering by Evan Wong.
