ABOUT SKY Sky zhao noticed his passion for speed, when he first arrived on New Zealand’s shore in 2002. In 2003 sky became heavily involved with the drag racing scene. Late in 2004 sky switched to track racing to hone his driving skills, he finished on the podium many time during his track racing career including the Manfield 4 hour endurance race, Auckland club championship And formula challenge. Meanwhile in 2005, he focused on building quality show cars, taking out awards at the auto salon car show in 2005 and 2006 (best jdm style) and 2007 (best brake engineering). In 2007 sky also competed in the rotax max international karting series where he developed his precision driving skills to Ascertain a wider depth in racing knowledge. In 2008 sky began his drift career, developing two Nissan s14s for drifting, he attended many drifting events such as d2nz, driftopia and various private track days. With the skills in hand, he picked up drifting pretty quickly. By end of 2008, he was given an opportunity to compete in the 2009 d1nz rookie championship series. After a year of competing and hard work, ranking 9th over 33 teams, and winning ‘best presented vehicle’ award at the d1nz award dinner, he was also nominated for ‘most improved driver’. Since the start of the 2010 season sky has Competed in the d1nz professional series, He has progressed rapidly among 40 other Competitive teams. Sky is currently ranked in the top 10 drift drivers in the country, Skys high level of professionalism and team presentation always stand out at each track team d spec visit and sky always has time for his fans. Sky is invited to many highly exposed and anticipated events such as the v8 supertouers, nzv8, big boy toys, 4&rotary supershows, crc speedshow at various places in New Zealand to represent the entire d1nz series. This is testament to the level sky keeps his cars and team presented. Sky works hard to promote drifting at the grass root level, volunteering his time, organizing amateur events and driver training ‘d spec drift day’ and working with Other drivers to help them improving their drifting skills. Sky Zhao is considered one of the pioneers in the sport of drifting.

MEDIA The D1NZ 2012-2013 season will see coverage spread across multiple networks which could include (but are not limited to) Prime TV, TV1, TV2, TV3, C4, Juice TV, ESPN, FOX Network Australia and SKY Sport. Motorworld TV will be played in over 47 Countries and 22 million homes worldwide. Full coverage will be played on TV3 Sunday afternoon’s Gillette Motorsport show including round plugs leading up to the high exposure events on TV3. Facebook. We have recently started a facebook page for team D Spec Team D Spec “OFFICIAL” fb page has 450 likes so far and is growing in popularity each day it has been active for 3 weeks now. Skys personal page was overwhelmed by fans and fans photos so now we have a place for businesses associated with Team D Spec to advertise and promote using our page to directly hit our fans and the target market. Youtube. We will be making videos in the 2013 season which we will post on Youtube. we will have at least one video per meeting featuring interviews with Sky and other team members. Promotional videos will include branding of naming rights sponsor.
