Sunshine Coast Mountains to the Sea

Long day trip or stay over night

Head north along the Bruce Highway until you reach Steve Irwin Way not far north of Caboolture. This detour off the highway goes through farmlands and gives spectacular views of the Glass House Mountains.

Not far past Australia Zoo you reach Landsborough and can head up the Blackall Range towards Maleny, famous for its craft and local food.

Before heading off to Montville take a short detour to Mary Cairncross Park, with its magnificent views. Further along are the villages of Montville and Mapleton, for more great views across to the coast.

At Mapleton head downhill to Nambour and across to re-join the Bruce Highway. Heading north just off the highway is Yandina, home of the Ginger Factory.

Further north and just off the highway is Eumundi, famous for arts, crafts and its twice weekly markets. Stay off the highway and head eastwards to Tewantin, Noosaville and famous Noosa Heads. Take a wander along Hastings Street for some food or shopping.

Heading south back to Brisbane take the coast road passing Sunshine Beach, Peregian, Coolum, Mudjimba, Maroochydore, Cotton Tree, Alexandra Headland, Mooloolaba, Buddina, Warana, Bokarina, Currimundi, Dicky Beach, Moffat Beach, Shelly Beach, Caloundra and Golden Beach, all with their own special spots worth visiting.
