DTI welcomes new Undersecretary The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) welcomed Undersecretary Prudencio M. Reyes, Jr. who will handle the Liaison Office for Legislative Affairs (LOLA) and the ASEAN/ APEC Integration-Specific Initiative on SME Trade Facilitation. His appointment was effective on 17 June 2014. In his early years in public and private service, Usec. Reyes has been the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) Transport Project Management Director, Philippine National Railways Chairman, Philippine Helicopter Services, Inc. Chairman, Ninoy Aquino International Airport Acting Chairman, and Pacific East Asia Cargo Airlines, Inc. President. In 1992 to 1995, he was the President of Philippine Aerospace Development Corporation (PADC). He became the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) Administrator and Government Corporation Athletic Association Chairman from 1998 to 2000.

He became a Bureau of Customs (BoC) Director from 2010 to 2012 and later became its Assessment and Operations Coordination Group (AOCG) Deputy Commissioner from 2012 to 2013. He authored BoC’s corporate culture “Rationale for Organizational Change.” His expertise includes project management and business consultancy, among others. He earned his Bachelor of Law degree in University of the East. He holds a Doctorate Degree in Business Administration (DBA) and Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Colegio de San Juan de Letran. He also took an International Management Course in University of California.
