Cordillera Expo showcases treasures from the region The Department of Trade and Industry-Cordillera Administrative Region (DTI-CAR) showcased their best products in the Cordillera Products Expo 2014 held recently at Festival Mall in Alabang, Muntinlupa City on 28 November to 07 December 2014. The Cordillera Expo is formerly known as the Impakabsat Fair which was an annual event initiated by the DTI to promote the Cordillera products. This year, the proponent of the event was the Philippine Exporters Confederation, Inc. (PHILEXPORT) in partnership with the DTI. The expo was one of the region’s biggest fairs which featured products of over 70 exhibitors from the provinces of Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, and Mountain Province. The top products of Baguio and Tabuk were also showcased at the fair.

DTI-Bureau of Domestic Trade Promotion (BDTP) Director Rhodora Leaño, DTI-CAR Regional Director Myrna P. Pablo, PHILEXPORT-National Alternate Trustee for CAR Francis I. Ferrer, and Baguio City Councilor in Charge of Trade and Industry Hon. Elaine Sembrano were present during the event’s opening ceremony last 28 November 2014. Among the products exhibited were fresh and processed food, furniture and furnishings, hand-woven products, silvercraft, ethnic novelty items, and housewares. In the lighter side of the event, the Cordillera Dance Troupe provided entertainment for the guests as they presented a traditional dance before the ribbon cutting session.
