What’s up @ An internal information service for DTI employees
DTI launches PBR With the aim to cut down the business registration time to as short as 30 minutes and to realize its commitment to reduce red tape and corruption in the government, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) launched the Philippine Business Registry (PBR) on 27 January 2012, with no less than President Benigno S. Aquino III gracing the event.
President Benigno S. Aquino III (2nd from right), together with (R-L) Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Gregory L. Domingo, Pag-IBIG President Atty. Darlene Marie B. Berberabe, and Social Security System (SSS) President Emilio de Quiros, Jr., listens intently as DTI Undersecretary for Consumer Welfare and Business Regulation Group (CWBRG) Zenaida C. Maglaya (extreme right) talks about the Philippine Business Registry (PBR).
A one-stop shop, the PBR offers a faster and more efficient business registration process for existing and would-be entrepreneurs as they would no longer need to go physically from one government agency to another to fill out and submit individual forms required to operate a business.

The PBR links electronically various agencies including the DTI, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Home Development Mutual Fund (Pag-IBIG), Philippine Health and Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth), and Social Security System (SSS). “Applicants do not need to physically go to each agency to register their businesses as they will now be interlinked thru the PBR…This facility aims to establish a fully secure national business registry database which will integrate information from different government agencies and facilitate seamless transactions among agencies,” DTI Secretary Gregory L. Domingo explained. The PBR is aligned with the 2011-2016 Philippine Development Plan (PDP), which also aims to improve the local business environment, thereby making the country more attractive to investors. The end-goal is to improve the country’s global competitiveness ranking.
